Delta County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population was 31,196. The county seat is Delta, Colorado, Delta. History Delta County was created by the Colorado legislature on February 11, 1883, out of portions of central Gunnison County, Colorado, Gunnison County. The county was named from a river delta, delta of arable land at the mouth of the Uncompahgre River, where it flows into the Gunnison River. Delta County is a county in the Upper Peninsula in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the population was 36,903. The county seat is Escanaba. The county was surveyed in 1843 and organized in 1861. Its name originates from the Greek letter delta (Δ), which refers to the triangular shape of the original county which included segments of Menominee, Dickinson, Iron, and Marquette counties.
