Deesa
Deesa is a city and a municipality in the Banaskantha district in the state of Gujarat, India. History Deesa is situated on the east banks of the West Banas River. Deesa was an estate and ('' faujdari'' or ) ruled by the Mandori (Jhalori) dynasty. Today original Deesa is known as ''Juna'' Deesa. New Deesa was also recognized as Camp Deesa. In 1820, the British military cantonment named Deesa Field Brigade was built in the middle of Rajasthan and Palanpur to maintain and protect the regions between Abu and Kutch from dacoits and the incursions of the desert and Parkar Khosas into Vagad and north-west Gujarat. The cantonment had a resident Catholic chaplain and a chapel. Deesa, as an estate of Palanpur, was under Palanpur Agency of Bombay Presidency, which in 1925 became the Banas Kantha Agency. Deesa Airport
Deesa Airport (also spelled ''Disa'' Airport) is an airport in Deesa, Gujarat. It is managed by the Airports Authority of India. Overview The airport hit national headlines in February 2011 when Subramanian Swamy claimed that 2G case accused Shahid Balwa illegally used the airport to secretly transport VIPs and criminals in and out of the country. The Airports Authority of India denied this was the case, stating that the airstrip was not used for the last two years, due to the poor condition of the airstrip, adding that it was fit only for paragliding. The airfield was most recently used for a sky diving program in 2013. In September 2011, A K Gogoi, Commander in Chief, South Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force announced that there was a proposal to develop Deesa Airport into a full-fledged Air Base and that the Defence Ministry had approved this proposal. Banas Kantha Agency
Palanpur Agency, also spelled Pahlunpore Agency, was a political agency or collection of princely states in British India, within the Gujarat Division of Bombay Presidency. In 1933, the native states of the Mahi Kantha Agency, except for Danta, were included in the Western India States Agency. The agency, headquartered at Palanpur, oversaw some 17 princely states and estates in the area, encompassing an area of 6393 square miles (16,558 km2) and a population, in 1901, of 467,271. Rajpur Deesa Panjarapole
Rajpur Deesa Panjarapole is a non-profit organization founded in 1992 in Rajpur, Banaskantha district, Gujarat, India. The organization's primary objective is to rescue and rehabilitate animals, particularly those destined for slaughter. History Rajpur Deesa Panjarapole was established in 1992 with the rescue of two goats. Since its inception, the organization has saved over 125,000 animal lives, primarily from slaughterhouses. Volunteers have risked their lives and faced numerous attacks to protect these animals. Operations The organization operates on donations and has no fixed income source. Palanpur (Gujarati language, Gujarati: ) is a city and a headquarters of Banaskantha district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Palanpur is the ancestral home to an industry of Indian diamond merchants. Etymology Palanpur in early times is said to have been called Prahladana Patan or Prahaladanapura after its founder Prahladana, mentioned in Jain texts.
