''Deeper into Dream'' is the eighth studio album by Australian indie pop musician Ben Lee, released on 11 October 2011 through Lojinx in Europe and Dangerbird Records in the United States. It is the first concept album in his catalogue, with a central theme that focuses on the power of dreams. Joining Lee for this dozen-song set are his longtime musical collaborators Nic Johns, Lara Meyerratken Lara Meyerratken is an Australian multi-instrumentalist musician and composer who currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Ben Lee
Benjamin Michael Lee (born 11 September 1978) is an Australian musician and actor. Lee began his career as a musician at the age of 14 with the Sydney band Noise Addict, but he focused on his solo career when the band broke up in 1995. He appeared as the protagonist in the Australian film '' The Rage in Placid Lake'' (2003). He has released eleven solo studio albums. Dangerbird Records is an independent record label in Los Angeles, California. The label is home to artists from around the world and part of the burgeoning Silver Lake music scene. The label has had international success from its small roster of artists including Silversun Pickups, Fitz and the Tantrums, Sebadoh, Minus the Bear, and The Frights History The two founders represented different roles in the music industry. The Rebirth Of Venus
''The Rebirth of Venus'' is the seventh studio album by Australian indie pop musician Ben Lee, released on 10 February 2009 by New West Records. A portion of the proceedings attained from the record are to be donated to FINCA International's village banking program. A press release said FINCA "offers financial services, not charity, to the world's lowest-income women entrepreneurs. This creates jobs, builds assets and generally improves the standard of living in these destitute communities." Critical response to the album has been largely negative, with particular mention of the song 'I'm a Woman, Too' (which Andrew P Street of ''Time Out Sydney'' described as reaching "a conclusion so baffling that it defies any criticism that isn't expressed via a crowbar to the jaw"). A concept album is an album whose tracks hold a larger purpose or meaning collectively than they do individually. Lara Meyerratken is an Australian multi-instrumentalist musician and composer who currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Meyerratken is most commonly associated with her longtime collaborator Ben Lee. Meyerratken is a notable session musician and songwriter. Artists she has performed or recorded with included Luscious Jackson, Crooked Fingers, Luna, Via Tania, Sneeze, Clem Snide and Nada Surf. In addition to her work as a performer and side artist, Meyerratken has composed a number of pieces for commercials, films and television.
