Decibel Magazine
''Decibel'' is a monthly heavy metal magazine published by the Philadelphia-based Red Flag Media since September 2004. It is currently the only monthly metal music magazine published in North America. Its sections include Upfront, Features, Reviews, Guest Columns and the Decibel Hall of Fame. The magazine's tag-line is currently "Extremely Extreme" (previously "The New Noise"); the editor-in-chief is Albert Mudrian. History ''Decibel'' was first conceived in late 2003 by journalist Albert Mudrian (born 1975), around the time he was finishing his book '' Choosing Death: The Improbable History of Death Metal & Grindcore'' (2004). Converge (band)
Converge is an American metalcore band formed by vocalist and artist Jacob Bannon and guitarist and producer Kurt Ballou in Salem, Massachusetts in 1990. While recording their landmark fourth album ''Jane Doe (album), Jane Doe'' in 2001, the group became a four-piece with the departure of guitarist Aaron Dalbec and the addition of bassist Nate Newton (musician), Nate Newton and drummer Ben Koller. This lineup has remained intact since. The members have also been involved in various side-projects and collaborations, including the bands Supermachiner (Bannon), Old Man Gloom (Newton), and Mutoid Man (Koller). Brooklyn Bowl
Brooklyn Bowl is a music venue, bowling alley and restaurant in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 2009, it is located in the former Hecla Iron Works Building at 61 Wythe Avenue. It is known for its high-tech green construction and variety of musical acts. In 2013 Rolling Stone named Brooklyn Bowl the 20th best music club in the United States. There are additional locations in Las Vegas, Nashville, and Philadelphia. Hecla Iron Works Building The building was home to Hecla Iron Works, founded in 1876 by Scandinavians Neils Poulson (1843-1911) and Charles Eger (1843-1916). The flexi disc (also known as a phonosheet, Sonosheet or Soundsheet, a trademark) is a phonograph record made of a thin, flexible vinyl sheet with a molded-in spiral stylus groove, and is designed to be playable on a normal phonograph turntable. Flexible records were commercially introduced as the Eva-tone Soundsheet in 1962. They were very popular among children and teenagers and mass-produced by the state publisher in the Soviet government. ''Transilvanian Hunger'' is the fourth studio album by Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone. It was released 17 February 1994 by Peaceville Records. It is the third and final album of what is dubbed the band's "Unholy Trinity", along with ''A Blaze in the Northern Sky'' and '' Under a Funeral Moon''. Recording ''Transilvanian Hunger'' was the first Darkthrone album to be recorded as a duo (Nocturno Culto and Fenriz), which was a direct result of Zephyrous's departure from the band the previous year. Fenriz performed all instrumentation on the album, with Nocturno Culto adding vocals. Darkthrone is a Norwegian black metal band hailing from Kolbotn, Akershus.
