Dead Or Alive Discography
The discography of Dead or Alive, a British dance-pop group, consists of six studio albums, seven compilation albums, twenty-eight singles, and two video albums. Formed by frontman Pete Burns in 1980 in Liverpool, the band were first signed to the independent Rough Trade label in 1982, though moved to Epic Records the following year. Their debut album, ''Sophisticated Boom Boom'', was released in 1984, producing a series of minor hits in the UK, most notably their version of "That's the Way (I Like It)" (originally recorded by KC and the Sunshine Band) which gave them their first UK Top 40 hit. Their second album, ''Youthquake'' (1985), reached the UK Top 10 and brought the band international recognition, largely due to the success of the lead single, "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" which reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 11 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1985. The album also contained three other UK Top 40 hits: "Lover Come Back to Me", " In Too Deep", ...

The band formed in 1980 in Liverpool and found success in the mid-1980s, releasing seven singles that made the UK top 40 and three albums on the UK top 30. At the peak of their success, the lineup consisted of Pete Burns (vocals), Steve Coy (drums), Mike Percy (bass) and Tim Lever (keyboards), with the core pair of Burns and Coy writing and producing for the remainder of the band's career. Two of the band's singles reached the U.S. top 20 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100: "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" (No. 11 in August 1985) and " Brand New Lover" (No. 15 in March 1987). "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" peaked at number one for two weeks in 1985 in the UK, then charted again in 2006 following Burns' appearance on the television reality show ''Celebrity Big Brother'' and on season 4 of ''Stranger Things''. It also became the first of two singles to top the ''Billboard'' ...

Billboard Hot 100
The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. This tracking period also applies to compiling online streaming data. Radio airplay, which, unlike sales figures and streaming, is readily available on a real-time basis, is also tracked on a Friday to Thursday cycle effective with the chart dated July 17, 2021 (previously Monday to Sunday and before July 2015, Wednesday to Tuesday). A new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by ''Billboard'' on Tuesdays but post-dated to the following Saturday. The first number-one song of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 was "Poor Little Fool" by Ricky Ne ...

UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. As of 2021, the OCC still only tracks how many UK Top 75s album hits and how many weeks in Top 75 albums chart each artist has achieved. To qualify for the Of ...

List Of Best Selling Music Artists
The following list of best-selling music artists includes those music acts from the 20th century to the present with claims of 75 million or more record sales worldwide. This information cannot be listed officially, as there is no organization that has recorded global music sales. The tables are listed with both their claimed sales figure along with their total independently certified units and are ranked in descending order, with the artist with the highest amount of claimed sales at the top. If two or more artists have the same claimed sales, they are then ranked by certified units. The claimed sales figure and the total of certified units (for each country) within the provided sources include sales of albums, singles, compilation-albums, music videos as well as downloads of singles and full-length albums. Sales figures, such as those from SoundScan, which are sometimes published by ''Billboard'' magazine, have not been included in the certified units column. Definitions Gol ...

Music Recording Sales Certification
Music recording certification is a system of certifying that a music recording has shipped, sold, or streamed a certain number of units. The threshold quantity varies by type (such as album, single, music video) and by nation or territory (see List of music recording certifications). Almost all countries follow variations of the RIAA certification categories, which are named after precious materials (gold, platinum and diamond). The threshold required for these awards depends upon the population of the territory where the recording is released. Typically, they are awarded only to international releases and are awarded individually for each country where the album is sold. Different sales levels, some perhaps 10 times greater than others, may exist for different music media (for example: videos versus albums, singles, or music download). History The original gold and silver record awards were presented to artists by their own record companies to publicize their sales ach ...

Nukleopatra
''Nukleopatra'' is the sixth and final studio album from British synth-pop band Dead or Alive. Still a massive success in Japan, Epic Records released ''Nukleopatra'' there in 1995. Left without a record contract in the UK and the US, this album did not get released in other territories until years later. ''Nukleopatra'' was eventually issued on several different labels, with varying track listings, timings and album artwork. Production The band initially signed a worldwide release deal with PWL and began recording at PWL Studios. Recording was started on new tracks cowritten and produced by Mike Stock, but the sessions were aborted when Stock abruptly quit PWL over his dissatisfaction with his share of publishing royalties on the new Dead Or Alive material. Work on new material recommenced with PWL staffer Barry Stone taking over co-production duties. The album contains remixed versions of the 1990 tracks "Unhappy Birthday" and "Gone Too Long" from ''Fan the Flame (Part 1)'' ...

Fan The Flame (Part 1)
''Fan the Flame (Part 1)'' is the fifth studio album from dance music band Dead or Alive and was released in 1990. Epic Records released ''Fan the Flame (Part 1)'' in Japan only. The album remained an exclusive in this territory until the worldwide release of the '' Sophisticated Boom Box MMXVI'' compilation box set in 2016. The album was a slight change in the band's musical style towards more melancholic lyrics and refined vocals from Burns. The background vocals on "Total Stranger" were performed by British pop band Londonbeat and the London Community Gospel Choir provided backing vocals for "Unhappy Birthday". The song "My Love's On The Line" was also recorded for the album and performed live in 1990 but went unreleased. In 2020 the master tape was discovered in Steve Coy's personal collection and the track released on the ''Invincible'' reissue set the next year. A follow-up album, '' Fan the Flame (Part 2)'', also began recording in 1990 but was abandoned until posthumou ...

"Turn Around and Count 2 Ten" is the lead single by British band Dead or Alive from their fourth studio album ''Nude''. Nude (Dead Or Alive Album)
''Nude'' is the fourth studio album by British pop group Dead or Alive, released in 1988 on Epic Records. The band lost their foothold in the UK and U.S. charts with this album, but it proved to be a massive success in Japan, where the single "Turn Around and Count 2 Ten" spent 147 days at number one. "Come Home (With Me Baby)" also topped the U.S. Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Mad, Bad And Dangerous To Know (Dead Or Alive Album)
''Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know'' is the third studio album by British pop band Dead or Alive, released on 21 November 1986 on Epic Records. Continuing their association with the Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW) production team, Dead or Alive scored several hit singles from this album, including " Brand New Lover", "Something in My House", "Hooked on Love" and "I'll Save You All My Kisses". Production of the album was marked by arguments between the band and SAW, with the latter frustrated by the band's refusal to branch into House music, and singer Pete Burns unwilling to hand over songwriting duties to the producers. Burns expressed frustration with his record company's attitude to his single choices, complaining the label only relented on scheduling "Brand New Lover" for release after Bananarama had a hit with their Dead or Alive-inspired cover of "Venus", and alleging they also refused to give "Something In My House" a Halloween release date. While Burns claimed vicious studio ...
