Team Ninja
is a Japanese video game developer and a division of Koei Tecmo. It was founded in 1995 as Tecmo Creative #3, a division of Tecmo headed by Tomonobu Itagaki. It is best known for franchises such as '' Ninja Gaiden'', ''Dead or Alive'' and '' Nioh''. History Founding, ''Dead or Alive'' and ''Ninja Gaiden'' (1995–2009) Team Ninja was formed by Tomonobu Itagaki as Tecmo Creative #3. The team was formed from a group of game designers working at Tecmo specifically for the purpose of creating the home versions of the fighting game series ''Dead or Alive''. During the mid-1990s, Japanese gaming company Tecmo was in financial trouble. Seeing how popular Sega's ''Virtua Fighter'' series was in Japan at the time, the management asked Tomonobu Itagaki to create a game similar to ''Virtua Fighter''. In order to stand out from other fighting games, Team Ninja focused on making ''Dead or Alive'' fast-paced and provocative. Itagaki believed that violence and sexuality were needed for "t ... PlayStation Store
PlayStation Store (PS Store) is a digital distribution service for users of Sony's PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 game consoles via PlayStation Network. The store offers a range of downloadable content both for purchase and available free of charge. Available content includes full games, add-on content, playable demos, themes and game/movie trailers. History Following feedback from many PlayStation Network users, a redesigned version of PlayStation Store was launched on April 15, 2008, via a firmware update. The new design was OS based rather than the previous Store's web based design enabling the Store to process information more quickly. A minor update to the store was released during Sony's E3 2009 press conference. This update makes the top page rotate pictures (including their links) regularly, and changes the navigation sounds. A major redesign of PlayStation Store was announced in September 2012, bringing with it a revised navig ... Jacky Bryant
is a series of fighting games created by Sega AM2 and designer Yu Suzuki. The original ''Virtua Fighter'' was released in December 1993 and has received four main sequels and several spin-offs. The highly influential first ''Virtua Fighter'' game is widely recognized as the first 3D fighting game released. Gameplay Similar to most other fighting games, the default gameplay system of the ''Virtua Fighter'' series involves two combatants needing to win two of three rounds, with each round being 30 seconds long or more. Combatants utilize various attacks in an attempt to deplete the other fighter's stamina gauge and deal a knockout (K.O.), winning a round. If a character is knocked out (or falls out) of the ring, their opponent wins the round in a Ring Out. An extra round is necessary if a double knockout (both players knocking each other out at the same time) occurs in a previous round and the match is tied one round each. In this round, players fight on a small stage wherein one ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Marie Rose (Dead Or Alive)
is a character in the ''Dead or Alive'' fighting game series by Koei Tecmo's Team Ninja development team. In English, she is voiced by Christine Marie Cabanos, while in Japanese she is voiced by Mai Aizawa. Conception and design When developing the arcade version of ''Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate'', Koei Tecmo art director Saito Yutaka wanted to include a character that would heavily contrast the series' previous designs and stand out, especially as the arcade version would be Japan-exclusive. Development team Team Ninja was also feeling restricted by the concept of how characters were expected to look in the series, and wanted to subvert player expectations, specifically in how the series had been defined by every female character having large breasts. Additionally where previous characters had been created from a concept of their fighting style or personality first in the series, they chose several keyword traits to develop around: " Gothic Lolita," " twin-tailed," and "small che ... Downloadable Content
content (DLC) is additional content created for an already released video game, distributed through the Internet by the game's publisher. It can be added for no extra cost or as a form of video game monetization, enabling the publisher to gain additional revenue from a title after it has been purchased, often using a microtransaction system. DLC can range from cosmetic content, such as skins, to new in-game content, like characters, levels, modes, and larger expansions that may contain a mix of such content as a continuation of the base game. In some games, multiple DLCs (including future DLC not yet released) may be bundled as part of a "season pass"—typically at a discount rather than purchasing each DLC individually. While the Dreamcast was the first home console to support DLC (albeit in a limited form due to hardware and internet connection limitations), Sony's PlayStation 2 and Microsoft's Xbox helped to popularize the concept. Since the seventh generation of video g ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Street Fighter IV
is a 2008 fighting game developed by Capcom and Dimps and published by Capcom. It was the first original main entry in the series since '' Street Fighter III'' in 1997, a hiatus of eleven years. Designed for the Taito Type X2 arcade hardware, it was ported with additional features in 2009 to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows, along with mobile versions later on. The game features 3D models, but otherwise the gameplay and its mechanics remain in the traditional 2D style the series is known for. ''Street Fighter IV'' received universal critical acclaim; receiving universally high scores from many gaming websites and magazines, it has often been cited as one of the greatest games of all time. It was followed by an updated version for consoles in 2010 called '' Super Street Fighter IV'', itself followed by an arcade update called '' Arcade Edition'' which was then ported to consoles in 2011, a Nintendo 3DS specific port called ''3D Edition'', and later in 2014'', Ultra Street F ... Combo (video Gaming)
In video games, a combo (short for combination) is a set of actions performed in sequence, usually with strict timing limitations, that yield a significant benefit or advantage. The term originates from fighting games where it is based upon the concept of a striking combination. It has been since applied more generally to a wide variety of genres, such as puzzle games, shoot 'em ups, and sports games. Combos are commonly used as an essential gameplay element, but can also serve as a high score or attack power modifier, or simply as a way to exhibit an exuberant playing style. In fighting games, combo specifically indicates a timed sequence of moves that produce a cohesive series of hits, each of which leaves the opponent unable to block. History John Szczepaniak of ''Hardcore Gaming 101'' considers Data East's DECO Cassette System arcade title ''Flash Boy'' (1981), a scrolling action game based on the manga and anime series ''Astro Boy'', to have a type of combo mechanic. Bug (software)
A software bug is a design defect ( bug) in computer software. A computer program with many or serious bugs may be described as ''buggy''. The effects of a software bug range from minor (such as a misspelled word in the user interface) to severe (such as frequent crashing). In 2002, a study commissioned by the US Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology concluded that "software bugs, or errors, are so prevalent and so detrimental that they cost the US economy an estimated $59 billion annually, or about 0.6 percent of the gross domestic product". Since the 1950s, some computer systems have been designed to detect or auto-correct various software errors during operations. History Terminology ''Mistake metamorphism'' (from Greek ''meta'' = "change", ''morph'' = "form") refers to the evolution of a defect in the final stage of software deployment. Transformation of a ''mistake'' committed by an analyst in the early stages of the softwa ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
