David Avraham Spector
David Avraham Spektor, also spelled Schpektor (9 Av 5715 – 12 Tishrei 5774) (9 August 1955 – 16 September 2013) was a Dutch–born Israeli rabbi. He was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and emigrated to Israel in 1973, after the Yom Kippur war. Spektor studied at several yeshivas for ten years, primarily at Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav and the Meretz Kollel. He was ordained by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel as both a neighbourhood rabbi (Rav Shechunah) and city rabbi (Rav Ir). Career Spektor positions included being an army chaplain with the rank of lieutenant in artillery, a rabbi at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, rabbi of the Nokdim community in Gush Etzion, and a lecturer in Michlelet Emunah college for women in Jerusalem. In 1998 Spektor was appointed the Ashkenazic rabbi of the Givat Sharett neighborhood of Beit Shemesh. Dave Spector
is an American '' gaijin tarento'', television producer, author, and actor based in Japan. Originally from Chicago, he moved to Japan in 1983 after visiting as a producer with the American television program ''Ripley's Believe It or Not!''. He appears regularly as a commentator on several different Japanese television programs, including a Wednesday spot on Fuji TV's daily morning news program '' Tokudane!'', and TBS's weekly ''Sunday Japon''. Early life and education As a child, Dave Spector appeared in American TV commercials, including one for cereal manufacturer Kellogg Company. He says that he first became interested in all things Japanese in the fifth grade at elementary school when he made friends with an immigrant classmate from Japan, Michael Sugano. As a gesture of friendship, he tried to speak Japanese to him by saying "Where is the post office?" in Japanese. Dave Specter (born May 21, 1963) is an American Chicago blues and jazz guitarist. Biography Hailing from Chicago's Northwest side, Specter began to learn to play the guitar at the age of 18. His teacher was Steve Freund, who taught Specter between the latter's duties at the Jazz Record Mart and Delmark Records. Freund ultimately organised a concert tour for Specter alongside Sam Lay and Hubert Sumlin. Contacts made while working at the B.L.U.E.S. nightclub secured gigs as a sideman to Johnny Littlejohn, Son Seals, and the Legendary Blues Band. By 1989 Specter had organized his own backing band, known as the Bluebirds. By 1998 Specter had released five albums on the Delmark label, combining a mixture of blues (Specter listed his influences as T-Bone Walker, Pee Wee Crayton, Magic Sam, and Otis Rush) and jazz (Kenny Burrell is another inspiration). Specter does not sing, and he enlisted Barkin' Bill Smith as his first vocalist, performing on Specter's 1991 debut album, ''Blue ...
