David Russell (Gaelic Footballer)
David Russell is a Gaelic footballer from Kilnaboy County Clare. He has been a member of the Clare county team since 2000 and has played in two Munster Senior finals in 2000 and 2012. In 2004 he helped Clare to win the Tommy Murphy Cup. He has also won a number of McGrath Cup titles. County Clare () is a Counties of Ireland, county in the Provinces of Ireland, province of Munster in the Southern Region, Ireland, Southern part of Republic of Ireland, Ireland, bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean. Kilnaboy
Kilnaboy or Killinaboy () is a village, townland and civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It is located in the Burren, and as of the 2011 census the area had 347 inhabitants. Civil parish Kilnaboy is a parish in the historic Barony (Ireland), Barony of Inchiquin. Its chief town, Corofin, is located on the southern extremity of the parish. It is mentioned with regard to the Papal taxation of 1302-06. Geography Three kilometres north of Corofin, the village is on the southeastern border of the limestone hills of the Burren and extends both into the lowlands to the south and into the hills to the north. Mullaghmore mountain is close by. There are extensive tracts of bog in the eastern portion of the parish. Tommy Murphy Cup
The Tommy Murphy Cup was a Gaelic football competition, featuring senior county teams eliminated from the early stages of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and also Kilkenny county football team, Kilkenny when not fielding a team in the main All-Ireland. The series of games, organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association, were played during the summer months, with the final being played in August at Croke Park. The Cup was named after Tommy Murphy (Gaelic footballer), Tommy Murphy, a footballer from County Laois who was, appropriately for the competition, the only member of the Gaelic football#Team of the Millennium, Team of the Millennium from a county which had not won an All-Ireland. The McGrath Cup is a Gaelic football competition played each January in Munster Munster ( or ) is the largest of the four provinces of Ireland, located in the south west of the island. Clare Senior Football Championship
The Clare Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition organised by Clare GAA between the top twelve gaelic football clubs in County Clare, Ireland. The winners represent the county in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship, the winners of which progress to the semi-finals of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Munster Senior Club Football Championship
The Munster Senior Club Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Football Senior Club Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition for the champion clubs of each county. It has been organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1964. The series of games are played during the autumn and winter months with the final usually being played in late November. The prize for the winning team is the O'Connor Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. The Munster Championship is an integral part of the wider All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship.
