David Roberts (ice Hockey)
David Lance Roberts (born May 28, 1970) is an American former professional ice hockey forward. He is the son of former NHL player Doug Roberts. Early life Roberts was born in Alameda, California, when his father, Doug was a member of the California Golden Seals. As a youth growing up in Old Lyme, Connecticut, Roberts played in the 1981, 1982 and 1983 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Middlesex County, Connecticut. Roberts played prep school hockey at Avon Old Farms and college hockey at the University of Michigan. Career Roberts started his NHL career with the St. Louis Blues in 1994 after playing for the US national hockey team in the 1994 Winter Olympics. He also played with the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks. The Edmonton Oilers are a professional ice hockey team based in Edmonton. The Grand Rapids Griffins are a professional ice hockey team based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They compete in the American Hockey League (AHL), playing their home games at Van Andel Arena. The International Hockey League (IHL) was a minor professional ice hockey league in the United States and Canada that operated from 1945 to 2001. Peoria Rivermen (IHL)
The Peoria Rivermen were an ice hockey team that played in the International Hockey League. They played in Peoria, Illinois at the Carver Arena. A new team with the Peoria Rivermen name currently competes in the Southern Professional Hockey League. History The Peoria Rivermen were founded in 1982–83 in the International Hockey League, operating under owner Ken Wilson as the Peoria Prancers. Worcester IceCats
The Worcester IceCats were a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League. They played in Worcester, Massachusetts, at the Worcester Centrum (Renamed to the DCU Center in 2004). In 2005 the team was renamed the Peoria Rivermen and moved to Peoria, Illinois. The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league in North America that serves as the primary developmental league of the National Hockey League (NHL).
