Dave Pope
David Pope (June 17, 1921 – August 28, 1999) was an American Negro league and Major League Baseball outfielder who played one inning for the Homestead Grays and for four seasons in MLB for the Cleveland Indians in 1952, and from 1954 to 1955. He then played for the Baltimore Orioles after being traded from 1955 to 1956, then was traded back to Cleveland for the remainder of the 1956 season. He left MLB behind on September 30, 1956. David Pope (April 15, 1962 – October 21, 2016) was an American basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born in Newport News, Virginia, he attended Norfolk State University. A , small forward, Pope was selected in the third round (62nd overall) of the 1984 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz. David Pope (born 1965) is an Australian cartoonist, who has served as the daily editorial cartoonist for ''The Canberra Times'' since March 2008. Early life and education David Pope was born in 1965. The Pope family moved to Canberra when David was 7 years old. He lived in the Belconnen suburb of Macgregor, Australian Capital Territory, Macgregor, and attended the schools Ginninderra High School in Holt, Australian Capital Territory, Holt and then Copland College in Melba, Australian Capital Territory, Melba. He briefly attended university at the Australian National University in Canberra, and later enrolled in Labour Studies at the University of Adelaide. Pope describes himself as being "sidetracked into the peace movement, the punk movement and community radio" during the 1980s.
