David Miller (English Cricketer)
David Richard Miller (born 21 September 1974) is an English former cricketer. Miller was a right-handed Batsman (cricket), batsman who occasionally played as a wicketkeeper. Miller made his debut for Dorset County Cricket Club, Dorset in the 1998 Minor Counties Championship against Herefordshire County Cricket Club, Herefordshire. From 1998 to 2000, Miller represented Dorset in 14 Minor Counties Championship matches, with his final appearance for the county coming against Wiltshire County Cricket Club, Wiltshire. In 1999, Miller played his only List-A cricket, List-A match for Dorset in the 1999 NatWest Trophy against Scotland national cricket team, Scotland, where he scored 41 runs. Miller continues to play for his beloved Poole Town CC in the Dorset cricket league. Poole
Poole () is a large coastal town and seaport in Dorset, on the south coast of England. The town is east of Dorchester and adjoins Bournemouth to the east. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The Friends Provident Trophy was a one-day cricket competition in the United Kingdom. It was one of the four tournaments in which the eighteen first-class counties competed each season. They were joined by teams from Scotland and Ireland. Lancashire won the title a record seven times. Minor Counties Championship
The NCCA 3 Day Championship (previously the Minor Counties Cricket Championship) is a season-long competition in England and Wales that is contested by the members of the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA), the so-called national counties that do not have first-class status. History The competition began in 1895, with the Worcestershire honorary secretary Paul Foley being influential in its creation. In cricket, batting is the act or skill of hitting the ball with a bat to score runs and prevent the loss of one's wicket.
