David McNee (interior Designer)
William David McNee (born 1948/1949 - 20 July 2003) was a New Zealand interior designer and television personality. McNee began his career as an interior designer in the 1970s. There he helped decorate Vogel House in Lower Hutt during the time that Sir Robert Muldoon was staying there. He briefly was a real state agent which then made him continue helping with interior design shortly after. McNee went to America for several years to then coming back to New Zealand. He then appeared on New Zealand's '' My House, My Castle'' television show as one of the interior designers for the series. He also appeared on the television show ''Changing Rooms''. In July 2003 McNee was murdered at his home by 24-year-old Phillip Layton Edwards in St Marys Bay, Auckland. Personal life McNee was openly gay. David McNee
Sir David Blackstock McNee (23 March 1925 – 26 April 2019) was a Scottish police officer who was Chief Constable of the City of Glasgow Police (later Strathclyde Police) from 1971 to 1977, and then Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police from 1977 to 1982. Early life Born in Glasgow, McNee worked as an office boy at the Clydesdale Bank before joining the Royal Navy as a rating in 1943. During the Second World War, he served as a telegraphist on several ships, including HMS ''Empire Mace''. He was involved in the Normandy landings on D-Day. In 1946, McNee began his career in the police when he joined the City of Glasgow Police, serving as a uniformed constable before joining the force's Marine Division as a Detective Constable in 1951. Vogel House
Vogel House at 75 Woburn Road, Lower Hutt, New Zealand, is a neo-Georgian-style home built in 1933. For 13 years was the official residence of the Prime Minister of New Zealand, and it housed multiple other ministers and dignitaries. The home was built in 1933 for James and Jocelyn Vogel. The Vogels gifted the property to the Government in 1965. Initially used by the Australian High Commissioner, it became the official residence of the Prime Minister in 1977. Robert Muldoon lived there from 1977 to 1984. Muldoon's successor David Lange only lived there briefly and chose instead to live in a flat close to Parliament, and in 1990 Premier House became the official prime minister residence. Robert Muldoon
Sir Robert David Muldoon (; 25 September 19215 August 1992) was a New Zealand politician who served as the 31st prime minister of New Zealand, from 1975 to 1984, while leader of the National Party. Departing from National Party convention, Muldoon was a right-wing populist and economic nationalist, with a distinctive public persona described as reactionary, aggressive, and abrasive. After a troubled childhood, Muldoon served as a corporal and sergeant in the army in the Second World War. After a career as a cost accountant, he was elected to the House of Representatives at the 1960 general election as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamaki, representing the National Party.
