Davey Von Bohlen
Davey von Bohlen (born August 11, 1975) is an Americans, American musician and songwriter. He is best known for serving as lead vocalist and guitarist of the emo band The Promise Ring and also as guitarist and backing vocalist in short-lived cult band Cap'n Jazz originally from 1993 to 1995. He has also participated in the bands Vermont (US band), Vermont, and most recently, Maritime (band), Maritime. Musical career Cap'n Jazz Short-lived but highly influential, Cap'n Jazz helped transform emo from an underground punk subgenre into a more widely accepted subset of indie rock. The band quickly earned a cult following around Chicago and the Midwest, which would later spread to the rest of the US and the world after and around the time of the band's demise. Maritime (band)
Maritime was an American indie pop band formed in 2003 after the breakup of The Promise Ring and The Dismemberment Plan. Career The Promise Ring released their fourth studio album '' Wood/Water'' in April 2002; by October of that year, the band had broken up. Davey von Bohlen and Dan Didier of the Promise Ring started a band called In English. The pair came up with an album's worth of tracks that they subsequently demoed. They received interest from the Promise Ring's previous label Anti-; Bohlen said they made a deal over the phone where Anti would pay for the two to record an album. By June 2003, Eric Axelson of the Dismemberment Plan, who had broken up around the time that the Promise Ring did, had joined In English, which would rename themselves to Maritime. "Crimson and Clover" is a 1968 song by American rock band Tommy James and the Shondells. Written by the duo of Tommy James and drummer Peter Lucia Jr., it was intended as a change in direction of the group's sound and composition. "Crimson and Clover" was released in late 1968 as a rough mix after a radio station leaked it. It spent 16 weeks on the U.S. charts, reaching number one in the United States (in February 1969) and at least five other countries. "Don't Let's Start" is a song by the alternative rock band They Might Be Giants, from their 1986 eponymous debut album. It was the first single released from the album, released as a maxi-single. The single peaked at number 94 on the Australian ARIA singles chart in 1988. It was re-released by Elektra in 1990 after the success of the band's third album, ''Flood''. Jimmy Eat World is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Mesa, Arizona, in 1993. The Dismemberment Plan is an American indie rock band formed in Washington, D.C. on January 1, 1993. Also known as D-Plan or the Plan, the name was derived from an industry phrase used by insurance salesman Ned Ryerson in the 1993 comedy film ''Groundhog Day''. The band members include Eric Axelson (bass), Jason Caddell (guitar), Joe Easley (drums), and Travis Morrison (vocals and guitar). Meningioma, also known as meningeal tumor, is typically a slow-growing tumor that forms from the meninges, the membranous layers surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
