Dave Barbarossa
David Barbarossa (born 1961, also known as Dave Barbe) is an English musician and author. As the drummer in both Adam and the Ants and Bow Wow Wow, he was instrumental in creating the highly influential and innovative tribal drumming style that was popular among British and some American bands from 1979 to 1983. Adam and the Ants Barbarossa joined Adam and the Ants in 1977 and was the drummer for their debut album ''Dirk Wears White Sox''. It was released on 30 October 1979 by Do It Records and was the first number one album on the UK Indie Chart when the chart debuted in ''Record Week'' in 1980. Shortly afterward, Adam Ant hired former Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren in the hope of gaining more widespread recognition. Instead, McLaren persuaded Barbarossa, guitarist Matthew Ashman and bassist Leigh Gorman to leave Adam behind, and form a group under McLaren's management. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Malcolm McLaren
Malcolm Robert Andrew McLaren (22 January 1946 – 8 April 2010) was an English fashion designer and music manager. He was a promoter and a manager for punk rock and new wave bands such as New York Dolls, Sex Pistols, Adam and the Ants, and Bow Wow Wow, and was an early commercial architect of the punk subculture. McLaren was brought up by his grandmother after his father, Peter, left the family home. He attended several British art colleges in the 1960s, where he became involved in underground art and left-wing activism. From 1974 to 1976, he operated the Chelsea boutique Sex with his girlfriend Vivienne Westwood, which helped shape early punk fashion and became an early hub for the subculture in London. "Go Wild in the Country" is a single by English new wave band Bow Wow Wow from their album ''See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang Yeah, City All Over! Go Ape Crazy!''. Released in January 1982 by RCA Records, it was their first top 10 hit on the UK Singles Chart. Composition "Go Wild in the Country" was written by Malcolm McLaren with band members Matthew Ashman, Dave Barbarossa and Leigh Gorman. ''Your Cassette Pet'' is the cassette-only debut mini-album by English new wave band Bow Wow Wow, released in November 1980 on EMI Records. Release ''Your Cassette Pet'' contained only eight tracks (plus an instrumental secret track), and was not available on vinyl. Therefore, it was eligible only for the UK Singles Chart, where it peaked at No. 58, and not the UK Albums Chart. Two of the more notorious tracks from ''Your Cassette Pet'' are "Sexy Eiffel Towers" and "Louis Quatorze". "Sexy Eiffel Towers" included suggestive moaning and heavy breathing performed by then-14-year-old Lwin. "Louis Quatorze", which called attention to Lwin's young age, described a sexual assault at gun point.
