Das Ich
Das Ich is a German dark wave/ gothic- industrial band formed in 1989. The group, fronted by Stefan Ackermann and Bruno Kramm, were one of the prominent founders of and contributors to " Neue Deutsche Todeskunst" (''New German Death Art'') a musical movement in the early 1990s. The band is known for having a classically inspired gothic-industrial style, for their on-stage theatrics, and their almost exclusive use of German-language lyrics. The German term ''Das Ich'' makes reference to the Freudian concept James Strachey translated as " ego" ( "The I"). History Bruno Kramm and Stefan Ackermann met in Bayreuth, Germany in 1989 at a nightclub called the "Crazy Elephant". Bruno had already been involved in several band projects, and after some hours of socializing the two decided to begin a project together. Electronic body music (EBM) is a genre of electronic music that combines elements of industrial music and synth-punk with elements of dance music. It developed in the early 1980s in Western Europe, as an outgrowth of both the Punk rock, punk and the industrial music cultures. Atrocity is a German metal band from Ludwigsburg that formed in 1985. History First started in 1985 as Instigators and playing grindcore, Atrocity arose as a death metal band with their debut EP, ''Blue Blood'', in 1989, followed soon by ''Hallucinations'', a concept album about drug use. Their second album, '' Todessehnsucht'' ("longing for death"), ventured into death metal classics with a cover of "Archangel" by the band Death. Wave-Gotik-Treffen
The (WGT; German for "Wave Gothic Meeting") is an annual world festival for "dark" music and "dark culture" in Leipzig, Germany. 150+ bands and artists from various backgrounds (gothic rock, Electronic body music, EBM, Industrial music, industrial, Noise (music), noise, darkwave, neo-folk, Neoclassical music, neo-classical and Medieval music, medieval music being examples) play at several venues throughout the city over four days on Pentecost, Whitsuntide. Stillste Stund () is a German musical group formed by Oliver Uckermann and female vocalist Birgit S. in 1998. Their songs are written primarily in German, supported by male and female vocalists. Wumpscut (stylised as :wumpscut: or simply :w:) is a gothic-influenced electro-industrial music project from Germany. It was founded in May 1991 by Bavarian disc jockey Rudolf "Rudy" Ratzinger (born 1966). Through 2016, Rudy Ratzinger released seventeen studio albums plus a number of compilations: demos, compilation tracks, and remixes from deleted singles and EPs. And One is a German new wave, synthpop, and EBM band founded by Steve Naghavi and Chris Ruiz in 1989. History The band formed after Steve Naghavi and Chris Ruiz met in 1989 at a Berlin club. Being fans of early EBM music, Naghavi and Ruiz decided to follow in the footsteps of new wave/synthpop band Depeche Mode by using two keyboards and a beatbox. Jason Ankeny of AllMusic called their 1990 single, "Metal Hammer", a "significant club hit". The duo became a trio with the addition of Alex Two, prior to the release of their debut album, ''Anguish'' in 1991. That same year, they were honored as the Best New Artist in western Germany.
