Dartford F.C.
Dartford Football Club is a semi-professional association football club based in Dartford, Kent, England. In the 2024–25 season, the club participates in the Isthmian League Premier Division, the seventh tier of the English football league system. The club was formed in 1888 by members of the Dartford Working Men's Club. After winning the Isthmian League Division One North in the 2007–08 season and the Isthmian League Premier Division in the 2009–10 season, Dartford were promoted to the Conference Premier in 2012, in which they spent three seasons. The club's best performances in the FA Cup came in 1936 and 1937, when they reached the third round of the competition; they have also reached the final of the FA Trophy once, in 1974. Princes Park is a Association football, football stadium in Dartford, Kent, England. It is the home of Dartford F.C., Dartford. Halls Athletic F.C., Halls Athletic will be sharing the ground from 2025 onwards. The stadium's postcode is DA postcode area, DA1 1RT, the closest possible representation of the word "Dart". DA1 1FC was unobtainable, as the letter C is not allocated for use at the end of British postcodes. The stadium is owned by Dartford (borough), Dartford Borough Council. Frederick Alexander (cricketer)
Frederick Russell Alexander (4 June 1924 – 17 May 1984) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace and off-break bowler who played for Middlesex during the 1951 season. He was born in Acton Green and died in Harrow, London. Alexander represented Middlesex in two County Championship games during the 1951 season, making his debut against Surrey and following this up with a game against Sussex two weeks later. Alexander was a lower-middle order batsman who also played five games for the team in the Minor Counties Championship, but was unable to score enough runs to secure a permanent place in the side. Alexander also played football as a centre-back, and was on the books of league teams QPR and Charlton Athletic, but never made senior appearances for either. Edgar Alfred Croker (13 February 1924 – 25 December 1992) was an English football player and administrator. He was Secretary of the Football Association from 1973 to 1989. Life and career Born in Kingston-upon-Thames in 1924, Croker joined the RAF as a pilot in 1942. He sustained injuries in a crash which hampered his later football career. In the late 1940s and 1950s he played as a defender for Charlton Athletic, Dartford, Headington United (later Oxford United) and Kidderminster Harriers. He lived in Cheltenham in the 1950s, where he founded the heavy machinery company Liner-Croker Ltd. The company, specializing in earth-moving equipment, grew successfully throughout the 1960s. Fred Dell (10 December 1915 – 1970) was an English footballer who played as an inside right for Dartford and in The Football League for West Ham United and Doncaster Rovers. Club career Born in Dartford, Kent, Dell joined his hometown club Dartford. Signed by West Ham in 1935 for a reported fee of £2,000, he played only four games with his debut coming on 14 December 1936 in a 2–0 home defeat by Sheffield United. Dell moved to Doncaster Rovers in 1938 along with Albert Walker in exchange for Rovers Arthur Banner. The Baseball Ground was a stadium in Derby, England, that was first used for baseball, as the home of Derby Baseball Club from 1890 until 1898, and then for football, as the home of Derby County from 1895 until 1997.
