Darren Bartsch
Darren Andrew Bartsch (born 26 April 1969) is a former Australian rules footballer who played as a ruckman for West Adelaide and Port Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Bartsch, standing at and weighing , was smaller than many others in his position, but his adaptiveness, powerful jump and speed – unusual for a player his size – helped compensate. He is primarily known for being listed on five separate occasions by different Australian Football League (VFL/AFL) clubs – West Coast, Geelong, Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon – the most of any footballer who never played an AFL match. Loxton Football Club
The Loxton Football Club is an Australian rules football club which compete in the Riverland Football League. History The club was formed in 1908 and played their first game against Lyrup. Throughout the 1920s the club maintained a presence in the local Loxton District Football Association. In 1930 it was decided to field two teams in the local district competition, the ''Imperials'' and the ''Olympicians''. It remained that way until the advent of WWII Reforming after the war the club joined the Upper Murray Football Association and was an immediate success winning the first four premiers it competed in. Loxton, South Australia
Loxton is a town on the south bank of the River Murray in the Riverland region of South Australia. It is located on the lands of the Erawirung people who occupied the area before European colonisation. At the 2016 census, Loxton had a population of 4,568. It is a service town for the surrounding districts. Loxton's primary productions are agriculture & horticulture. Citrus fruit, wine grapes, almond and stone fruit trees are prevalent. Loxton is also the main town for the northern part of the Murray Mallee which is a dryland farming and grain cropping area. Loxton High School provides secondary education for the area. Loxton has a pioneer settlement museum (known as the Loxton Historical Village), preserving the heritage of the mallee region. A stress fracture is a fatigue-induced bone fracture caused by repeated stress over time. Instead of resulting from a single severe impact, stress fractures are the result of accumulated injury from repeated submaximal loading, such as running or jumping. Because of this mechanism, stress fractures are common overuse injuries in athletes. Stress fractures can be described as small cracks in the bone, or hairline fractures. 1991 AFL Season
The 1991 AFL season was the 95th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), which was known previously as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season ran from 22 March until 28 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top six clubs, an increase from the top five clubs which had contested the finals from 1972-1990. The season saw expansion of the league to fifteen clubs, with the admission of the newly established Adelaide Crows, based in Adelaide, South Australia. With at least one team representing each of the three major Australian rules football states, the league was now the highest level senior Australian rules football competition across Australia, as well as the top administrative body for football in Victoria. Hawthorn Football Club
The Hawthorn Football Club, nicknamed the Hawks, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Mulgrave, Victoria, that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was founded in 1902 in the inner-east suburb of Hawthorn, making it the youngest Victorian-based team in the AFL. Kevin Morris (Australian Footballer)
Kevin Morris (born 20 August 1951) is a former Australian rules football player who played in the Victorian Football League (VFL) between 1971 and 1976 for the Richmond Football Club and then from 1977 until 1981 for the Collingwood Football Club. He commenced his coaching career as Captain/Coach of Victorian Football Association (VFA) club Werribee in 1982 then went back to the VFL as Captain/Coach of the reserve side from 1983 to 1985, winning the premiership in his first season. After retiring from playing, Morris was appointed coach of West Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) in 1988 and remained in Adelaide until 1991. Kieran Sporn
Kieran Sporn (born 28 August 1966) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with and in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 1989-94. Career Originally from South Australia where he played for South Australian National Football League (SANFL) club West Adelaide, winning the club's Sam Suckling Medal as the best first year player in 1986, and the club Best & Fairest in 1987. Sporn moved to Melbourne in 1989 to play for VFL team Essendon. He played 19 consecutive games during his debut season before a knee injury ending the streak. He played five seasons for Essendon, then one season for Fitzroy in 1994, before retiring. Richmond Oval (currently ''Hisense Stadium,'' formerly ''City Mazda Stadium'' and ''Broadspectrum Oval'') is an Australian rules football oval in Richmond, a western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It has been the home of South Australian National Football League (SANFL) club West Adelaide for training since 1956 and home games since 1958. Anthony Dale Modra (born 1 March 1969) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented Adelaide and Fremantle in the Australian Football League (AFL) and West Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Basketball
