Dark Avenger
Dark Avenger was the pseudonym of a computer virus writer from Sofia, Bulgaria. He gained considerable notoriety during the early 1990s when his viruses spread internationally. Background and origins During the Cold War, the Bulgarian government authorized projects to reverse engineer Western technology. This eventually led to the Pravetz computers of the 1980s, which cloned popular Western personal computers. ''Battle Hymns'' is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Manowar, released in June 1982 by Liberty Records. It features the title track "Battle Hymn", and a song featuring a narration from actor Orson Welles, "Dark Avenger". Members of the band Ross "The Boss" Friedman and Joey DeMaio opted to produce the album as a team: the band, as a whole entity, would later assume production credits in succeeding albums. Some music publications did not consider Manowar to be a serious band, although few were favorable to the musicianship of Friedman and DeMaio in the album's songs. Over the years, ''Battle Hymns'' became highly influential for the power metal genre, which has since been acknowledged among critics and writers who were more favorable to the album. The album was re-recorded in 2010 as ''Battle Hymns MMXI''. Background Joey DeMaio and Ross the Boss met during the Heaven & Hell Tour of B ...

It is part of a series of titles that features various iterations of the superhero team the Avengers, with this version of the team – unbeknownst to the public in its stories – having several members who are actually supervillains and anti-heroes disguised as the established superheroes. Publication history The series debuted with issue #1, dated January 2009, as part of a multi-series story arc entitled " Dark Reign." In the premiere, writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato (working from a continuity begun in a previous, company-wide story arc, "Secret Invasion," involving an infiltration of Earth by the shape-shifting alien Skrulls and that race's eventual defeat) chronicled the aftermath of the U.S. government's disbanding of the federally sanctioned superhero team, the Avengers. Bendis described the thinking behind the team: "These are bad-ass, hardcore get-it-done typ ...
