Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering
Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering is a student-run society within Delft University of Technology, with over 190 members. The main focus of the student group is the development of rocket technology on a non-profit basis. All development, from engines to electronics, is done in-house. Although several projects take place in DARE, the group's two flagship projects are Stratos and Project Sparrow. Stratos includes the Stratos I rocket which was launched in 2009 and set the European altitude record for amateur rocketry at 12.5 km. The follow-up of this rocket was the Stratos II+, which was launched on 16 October 2015, reaching an altitude of 21.5 km and breaking the European altitude record. In summer of 2018, Stratos III was launched, disintegrating 20 seconds after the launch. Its successor, Stratos IV, was set to launch to 100 km, but never did due to ground systems failures during the launch campaign. Project Sparrow successfully developed a LOX/Ethanol, regenerative ... Digital Averroes Research Environment
The Digital Averroes Research Environment (DARE), funded by the DFG, is a virtual research environment concerned with the works of Averroës or Abū l-Walīd Muḥammad Ibn Aḥmad Ibn Rušd. DARE aims to provide scholars with the digitized manuscripts and incunables of Averroes's works (around 60,000 as of April 2013), as well as edited full texts, where applicable in all three language traditions of Averroes's works: Arabic, Hebrew and Latin. A comprehensive bibliography complements the corpus. Content The aim of the Digital Averroes Research Environment is to collect and edit the works of Averroes by making digital editions of his works, and images of all textual witnesses, including manuscripts, incunabula, and early prints, online accessible. The main benefit of the DARE project is the so-called chunks. Each chunk represents a given section of a certain work of Averroes, which can be traced in each other manifestation. Dictionary Of American Regional English
The ''Dictionary of American Regional English'' (''DARE'') is a record of regional variations within American English, published in five volumes from 1985 to 2012 and based on data mostly collected in the 1960s. It differs from other dictionaries in that it does not document the standard language used throughout the country. Instead, it contains regional and folk speech, those words, phrases, and pronunciations that vary from one part of the country to another, or that are learned from family and friends rather than from teachers and books. For ''DARE'', a "region" may be as small as a city or part of a city, or as large as most (but not all) of the country. National Endowment for the Humanities#Humanities magazine, ''Humanities'' magazine has described it as "a bold synthesis of linguistic atlas and historical dictionary", and William Safire called it "the most exciting new linguistic project in the twentieth century". The ''Dictionary'' is based both on face-to-face interviews ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Algebraic Riccati Equation
An algebraic Riccati equation is a type of nonlinear equation that arises in the context of infinite-horizon optimal control problems in continuous time or discrete time. A typical algebraic Riccati equation is similar to one of the following: the continuous time algebraic Riccati equation (CARE): A^\top P + P A - P B R^ B^\top P + Q = 0 or the discrete time algebraic Riccati equation (DARE): P = A^\top P A -(A^\top P B)(R + B^\top P B)^(B^\top P A) + Q. is the unknown by symmetric matrix and are known real coefficient matrices, with and symmetric. Though generally this equation can have many solutions, it is usually specified that we want to obtain the unique stabilizing solution, if such a solution exists. Origin of the name The name Riccati is given to these equations because of their relation to the Riccati differential equation. Indeed, the CARE is verified by the time invariant solutions of the associated matrix valued Riccati differential equation. As ...
