Amos Muzyad Yaqoob Kairouz, (born January 6, 1912 – February 6, 1991) known professionally as Danny Thomas, was an American comedian, actor, singer, producer, and philanthropist. He created and starred in ''The Danny Thomas Show''. In addition to guest roles on many of the comedy, talk, and musical variety programs of his time, his legacy includes a lifelong dedication to fundraising for charity. Thomas founded the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, a leading center in pediatrics with a focus on Childhood cancer, pediatric cancer. St. Jude has affiliate hospitals in eight other American cities as of early 2020. Daniel Joseph Thomas (born 12 November 1961) is an English former professional footballer who played for Coventry City and Tottenham Hotspur and for the England national team. He was a member of the Tottenham Hotspur team that won the 1983–84 UEFA Cup, despite missing his penalty in the shootout in the final against Anderlecht. Club career Thomas made his debut for Coventry City during the 1979–80 season, making 3 appearances during that season. Over the next three seasons he was a regular for the first team. In June 1983 he was transferred to Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of £250,000. He made his Tottenham league debut on 27 August 1983 in a 3–1 defeat at Ipswich Town. Danny Justin Thomas (born 1 May 1981) is an English former footballer player who played as a left-winger. Career Born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Thomas attended Lilleshall National School for gifted footballers between 1995 and 1997 after being offered a 2-year scholarship. During his time at Lilleshall Thomas played alongside Scott Parker and Francis Jeffers, while Michael Owen and Wes Brown were in the year above. He started his career as a trainee at Nottingham Forest and later Leicester City, and made his first team debut against Newcastle United in December 1999. Danny Thomas (born 13 May 1985 in Cardiff) is a retired Welsh former professional footballer. In his professional and semi-professional career, he played for Cardiff City and Carmarthen Town, Haverfordwest County and Bridgend Town. He has played for Wales at Under 17 and Under 19 level. Danny Lee Thomas (May 9, 1951June 12, 1980) was a Major League Baseball player who played for the Milwaukee Brewers in late 1976 and early 1977. During his brief major league career, he became known as the "Sundown Kid" because of his well-publicized refusal to play on seventh-day Sabbath. Early years Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Thomas grew up in East Carondelet, Illinois, graduated from Dupo Senior High School, and played college baseball at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. In June 1971, he played in the College World Series; the Southern Illinois Salukis advanced to the championship game, but lost to the USC Trojans 7–2 on June 17. The next year, Thomas was picked sixth overall in the 1972 amateur draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.
