Laish () is a British folk rock band led by songwriter, guitarist and singer Danny Green. History The band was formed in Brighton in 2008 and became part of the Willkommen Collective, the Brighton alternative folk scene which included the bands Sons of Noel and Adrian and The Leisure Society. Green was also a member of Sons of Noel and Adrian during 2008-2014. The band's self-titled debut album was recorded at Green's home and released on Willkommen Records in December 2010. It received favourable reviews from Mojo Magazine, The Blue Walrus and Ondarock. Laish have appeared at UK festivals including No Direction Home and End of the Road. Daniel Richard Green (born 9 July 1988) is an English semi-professional footballer and coach who last played as a right winger for club Concord Rangers. Green spent his youth with Charlton Athletic and Northampton Town, before he joined Nottingham Forest in 2004. He dropped into non-league with Bishop's Stortford after picking up a bad injury at Forest. His performances earned him a return to the Football League with Dagenham & Redbridge in May 2009. Green won the 2010 League Two play-off final at Wembley Stadium and promotion to League One with Dagenham, before he was sold on to Charlton for a £350,000 fee in June 2011. In January 2008, he joined Cheshunt as a dual registration player. He then joined Bishop's Stortford before moving to Billericay Town in October 2009. He joined Dagenham & Redbridge on a three-year contract in May 2010. Edward "Danny" Green (November 6, 1876 – November 9, 1914) was an American professional baseball player. A center fielder/right fielder, he played in Major League Baseball from 1898 through 1905 for the Chicago Orphans (1898–1901) and Chicago White Sox (1902–05). Green batted left-handed and threw right-handed. He was born in Burlington, New Jersey. In an eight-season career, Green was a .293 hitter (1021-for-3484) with 29 home runs and 423 RBI in 923 games, including 552 runs, 124 doubles, 65 triples and 192 stolen bases. Green reached the majors in 1898 with the Chicago Orphans (later the Cubs), spending four years with them before moving to the Chicago White Sox. He held the WBA light-heavyweight title from 2007 to 2008, the IBO cruiserweight title twice between 2009 and 2013, and the WBC interim super-middleweight title from 2003 to 2005. Green was the founder of discount retailer Brand Centre which was sold to Moss Bros Group in 1999. In 2006, Green sold his retail kiosk business to Sky plc for in excess of £25 million, and HomeSun Ltd, a solar distribution company, to Aviva Investors in 2012 for £100 million. Business career Green opened the first Brand Centre in Enfield, North London, now Matalan. The departmental store offered designer clothing for men, women and children sold at a discount. The Enfield store was the first in Britain to have a "Men's Creche" where men could sit, read magazines and watch football.
