Danish Institute For International Studies
The Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS, Danish: ) is a public sector research institute for independent research and analysis of international affairs, financed primarily by the Danish state. DIIS conducts and communicates multidisciplinary research on globalization, security, development, and foreign policy. DIIS has approximately 120 employees, both in research and support staff. Researchers have different academic backgrounds. DIIS contributes to the education of researchers at home and in developing countries, and work with relevant ministries for prolonged periods to qualify their knowledge of how DIIS research is used outside academic circles. The sector research institutes of Denmark () are state-owned independent research institutes under various Danish Government ministries, whose primary task is to do research in various fields. All institutes classified as sector research institute are subject to the law of Sector research institutes, law #326 of May 5, 2004, previously law #1076 of December 20, 1995. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Danish: ''Ministeriet for Videnskab, Teknologi og Udvikling'') decides which institutes are classified as sector research institutes. The Ministry also consults with Det Strategiske Forskningsråd before abolishing or establishing new institutes. Folketing
The Folketing ( , ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark — Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, the Folketing was the lower house of the bicameral parliament called the Rigsdag until 1953; the upper house was the Landsting. The Folketing meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. It passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. It is also responsible for adopting the state's budgets and approving the state's accounts. As set out in the Constitution of Denmark, the Folketing shares power with the reigning monarch. The Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) was a non-profit program at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that operated from 1989 to 2021. TTCSP was originally established at the Foreign Policy Research Institute in 1989. The director was James McGann. The program conducted research on policy institutes around the world, and maintained a database of over 8,200 think tanks from across the world.
