Daniel Roberts (Royal Navy Officer)
Daniel Roberts (18 February 1789 – 18 February 1869) was an officer in the Royal Navy who made a series of cameo-like appearances in the lives of Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Edward Ellerker Williams, and Edward John Trelawny. Roberts is best known for having designed and supervised the construction of Shelley's schooner, ''Don Juan'', and Lord Byron's yacht, ''Bolivar''. Early life Daniel Roberts was born on 18 February 1789 in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, England; he died on his 80th birthday at three in the afternoon on the Island of La Maddalena off the northern coast of Sardinia. When his father Captain Henry Roberts died, Daniel was seven. Henry left his wife Harriet to care for their eight children. Nothing has been written about Daniel Roberts' childhood until, at the age of 10, he enlisted in the Royal Navy as a Volunteer 1st Class. Daniel Foley Roberts
Daniel Foley Roberts M.L.C. (19 February 1824 – 26 July 1889), was a member of the Queensland Legislative Council. Roberts was born in Sydney, New South Wales where he was educated. He was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1849. He arrived in Brisbane in 1851 and began a practice there. Roberts narrowly lost the Queensland Legislative Assembly election for Fortitude Valley to Charles Lilley in 1860. Roberts was one of the first members nominated to the Legislative Council of Queensland, and was Chairman of Committees of that body from its inception in May 1860 till his death on 26 July 1889. William Edward Daniel Ross (November 16, 1912 - November 1, 1995) was a Canadian actor, playwright, and bestselling writer of more than 300 novels in a variety of genres. Dan Roberts is an American public address announcer best known for his work for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association. He has held this position since 1979, the entirety of the team's stay in Utah, and is the longest tenured PA announcer in the NBA. Throughout each Utah Jazz game, Roberts is known to address the Delta Center crowd by asking, "How 'bout this jazz?". His favorite Jazz basketball player is Karl Malone, whose baskets he announced by saying, "The Mailman delivers!" Dan's son, Jeremy, is also a PA Announcer, having worked for several professional and college teams since 1998.
