''Dangerous Waters'' is a 2023 American thriller film directed and written by John Barr. The film stars Odeya Rush, Eric Dane, Saffron Burrows, and Ray Liotta. ''Dangerous Waters'' premiered on October 13, 2023, in select theaters and video on demand. Plot Rose surprises her mother with a hug before teasingly demanding the car keys. Alma reminds her that they have a long drive tomorrow. The next morning their car breaks down when Rose’s shift is over. Rose declares it is an omen and her mother declines, getting the car up and running again as they banter. They meet Derek, Alma’s new boyfriend, at the harbor. It is revealed the trio is taking Derek’s small boat on sail ending in Bermuda. Derek attempts to bond with Rose on the boat. Alma and Derek grow more affectionate. Brian Duffy is a Scottish actor, writer and Visual Vernacular artist. He is Deaf and uses British Sign Language. Personal life He achieved a BA (Hons) in Video and Film Production from the University of Wolverhampton. Career He is credited with co-creating the first sitcom in British Sign Language, called ''Small World'', along with Ace Mahbaz. The comedy series features Visual Vernacular, and relies on physical humour, facial expressions and in-jokes to bring comedy that is effective for a Deaf audience. They created the series directly in Sign Language, filming lines directly in Sign Language rather than writing the script down, and developed the series further with a series of workshops with the actors.
