Dan Bejar
Daniel Bejar ( ; born October 4, 1972) is a Canadian singer and musician from Vancouver, British Columbia. He is the frontman of Destroyer, and was a member of indie rock band the New Pornographers. Overview In 2006, he joined with Carey Mercer of Frog Eyes and Spencer Krug of Sunset Rubdown and Wolf Parade as part of indie supergroup Swan Lake. He has also collaborated with his wife Sydney Hermant as the duo Hello, Blue Roses, whose debut album was released in 2008. Personal life Bejar was born in 1972 to a Spanish father and an American mother at Vancouver General Hospital. Bejar's father was a physicist who grew up Catholic in Spain during the Francoist dictatorship, and his mother was a Jewish teacher who taught the Spanish language. Bejar was raised without religion. Frog Eyes
Frog Eyes are an indie rock band from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada fronted by Carey Mercer. Their 2010 album ''Paul's Tomb: A Triumph'' was a longlisted nominee for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize. They have released ten albums and two EPs and are noted for their collaboration with Dan Bejar of Destroyer. History Frog Eyes is led by singer/songwriter/guitarist Carey Mercer. Drummer Melanie Campbell and Mercer are married and were Frog Eyes' only two permanent members. Campbell is originally from Penticton, British Columbia, as is former member Spencer Krug. Blaine Thurier
Blaine Thurier (born 1967) is a Canadian musician and filmmaker. He played synthesizer with the Canadian indie pop supergroup The New Pornographers from their inception in 1997 up to 2021. He also directed several music videos for the band during his tenure. Thurier has written and directed feature films, which have been screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), South by Southwest Film Festival, Slamdance and other festivals. Thurier served as a 2011 panelist for the TIFF. Personal life Thurier was born in 1967 Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada. He lives in Vancouver with his wife and son. A supergroup is a musical group formed of members who are already successful as solo artists or as members of other successful groups.
