DaizyStripper
is a five-member Japanese visual kei rock band that formed in March 2007, and is signed onto the indie label Beyond-Max. DaizyStripper also has an alter-ego band called Frantic Emiry. History 2007–2008: Formation and indie years DaizyStripper was founded in March 2007 with the line-up of: Yugiri (ex-Altema) on vocals, Mayu (ex-Clavier) on guitar, Nao (ex-Trick) on guitar, Rei (ex-Clavier) on bass, and Kazami (ex-Clavier and former Lareine roadie and support member) on drums. They spent three months writing songs and rehearsing, and on June 5 the band had their demonstration live at Takadanobaba Area. Their debut live was on June 18 at Shibuya O-West. This led into a string of four lives, starting on June 24 at Liquid Room Abisu and ending on July 16 at Takadanobaba Area. Hide (musician)
, known professionally as hide, was a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the rock band X Japan from 1987 to 1997 and rose to prominence in Asia as a solo artist from 1993 to 1998, until his death. He also formed the United States–based rock supergroup (music), supergroup Zilch (band), Zilch in 1996. Hide sold millions of records, both solo and as a member of X Japan. X Japan rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s, credited as founders of the Japanese visual kei movement. When they disbanded in 1997, he focused on his solo career which started four years prior and went on to enjoy significant popularity. At the height of his fame, while recording his third studio album and about to launch an international career with the newly formed Zilch, he died in 1998 of what was ruled a suicide by hanging. Animethon
Animethon is a three-day anime convention held annually at Edmonton Convention Centre in Edmonton, Alberta and organized by the non-profit organization Alberta Society for Asian Popular Arts (ASAPA). It is Canada's longest-running anime convention, the first being held in 1994. History Animethon was formed back in 1994 by the University of Alberta's anime club, Banzai Anime Klub of Alberta (BAKA), with the intention of promoting Japanese anime. The first Animethon was a one-day event that allowed people to view different Japanese anime movies and television shows within two classrooms at Grant MacEwan. It became a success by presenting well-known and more obscure anime to audiences and has since grown to what it is now. "Misery" is the fifth single by Japanese musician hide, released on June 24, 1996. It reached number 3 on the Oricon chart. It was certified gold by RIAJ in July 1996. On May 2, 2007, the single was re-released with a slightly different cover. On August 4, 2010, it was re-released again as part of the second releases in "The Devolution Project", which was a release of hide's original eleven singles on picture disc vinyl. Progressive Rock
