D4 Motorway (Slovakia)
D4 motorway () is a Slovak motorway which, when completed, will form the outer ring road around Bratislava, speed up access to motorway networks and partially reduce traffic on the road network in the catchment areas of Bratislava. The D4 is one of Europe's largest public-private partnership ( PPP) projects. For decades, there was only a short stretch from Austrian border at Jarovce to the junction with D2 (part of the former D61), construction of which started in 1996 and was opened in 1998. Construction of various other parts started in the late 2010s, with several openings throughout 2020 and 2021. The extension to the motorway D1 in Bratislava is underway, in order to connect the southern bypass of Bratislava to the country's main traffic artery. Devínska Nová Ves
Devínska Nová Ves (, , ) is a borough of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Its western borders are formed by the Morava River, which also forms the national border between Slovakia and Austria. Devínska Nová Ves is notable mainly for its large Volkswagen factory, for Sandberg, a world-known palaeontological site, where many fossils of prehistoric animals are found , and for the a cyclist bridge over Morava river linking it with Schloss Hof in Austria. Devínska Nová Ves is the last train station in Slovakia on the railway line from Bratislava to Vienna. Among other things, it is home to the largest Croatian community in Slovakia. Kittsee
Kittsee (; , , ) is an Austrian municipality in the District of Neusiedl am See (district), Neusiedl am See, Burgenland. History In the Middle Ages, the settlement was situated in the Kingdom of Hungary, and was probably settled by Pecheneg border guards in the 11th century. There was a Hungarian royal castle on the site of the settlement as early as the 12th century. The first documented mention of the settlement was in 1291; the name ''Koeche'' was in use in 1390. D1 motorway is an east-west motorway () in Slovakia. The D1 motorway is the oldest, longest and busiest motorway in Slovakia, which is connects Bratislava with Trnava, Trenčín, Žilina, Martin, Poprad, Prešov, Košice to the Slovak- Ukrainian border (border crossing with Uzhhorod), where it is connected to the Ukrainian road M08. It is part of the European roads E50, E58, E75, E442, E571 and of the V.A Pan-European corridor (Trieste) - Bratislava - Žilina - Košice - Uzhhorod - Lviv. With the exception of sections in Bratislava, a vignette is required to use the motorway. The motorway has been under construction since 1972 and by 2023, 395.9 km of the total planned length of 512.4 km were operational. The Nordost Autobahn A6 or Northeastern motorway is a motorway in eastern Austria and it connects Slovakia to the Austrian motorway system. It begins at A4 junction near Bruckneudorf, going east, bypassing Potzneusiedl, crossing the Leitha river by a bridge, then beyond Gattendorf copying existing national road heading northeast and near Kittsee turning east to the Slovak border, where border crossing already exists since 1998.
