Cynog Dafis
Cynog Glyndwr Dafis (born 1 April 1938) is a Welsh politician and member of Plaid Cymru who served as the Member of Parliament for Ceredigion from 1992 to 2000, originally as a joint Plaid Cymru– Green Party MP until 1997 and then only as a Plaid Cymru MP until 2000. He also served as the Member of the Welsh Assembly for Mid and West Wales from 1999 to 2003. Born Cynog Glyndwr Davies at Treboeth in Swansea, Glamorganshire, Wales, he was initially a school teacher and researcher before entering politics. Early life and teaching career Cynog Glyndwr Davies was born in Treboeth, Swansea, on 1 April 1938. His father was George Davies, a Presbyterian reverend, preacher and minister. Mid And West Wales (National Assembly For Wales Electoral Region)
Mid and West Wales () is an electoral region of the Senedd, consisting of eight constituencies. The region elects twelve members, eight directly elected constituency members and four additional members. The electoral region was first used in the 1999 Welsh Assembly election, when the National Assembly for Wales was created. Each constituency elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post electoral system, and the region as a whole elects four additional or top-up Members of the Senedd, to create a degree of proportional representation. The additional member seats are allocated from closed lists by the D'Hondt method, with constituency results being taken into account in the allocation. Aberaeron Comprehensive School
Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron is a bilingual comprehensive school for pupils aged between 11 and 19 years. The school is situated in the town of Aberaeron in Ceredigion, Wales. The school had 590 pupils on roll in 2024. In 2014, 34% of pupils were from homes in which Welsh was the main language; however, 70% of pupils spoke Welsh as a first language or to an equal standard. In 2016, over 80% of pupils in Year 10 and Year 11 studied at least three examination subjects through the medium of Welsh. As of 2023, 31% of pupils came from Welsh-speaking homes. Aberystwyth University () is a public research university in Aberystwyth, Wales. Aberystwyth was a founding member institution of the former federal University of Wales.
