Wunsiedel () is a Districts of Germany, ''Landkreis'' (district) in the northeastern part of Bavaria, Germany. Neighbouring districts are (from the south clockwise) Tirschenreuth (district), Tirschenreuth, Bayreuth (district), Bayreuth, Hof (district), Hof, and to the east the Czech Republic. Geography The district is located in the Fichtel Mountains, with the highest elevation being the 1,051 m high Schneeberg (Fichtel Mountains), Schneeberg. The river Ohře originates in the district. Wunsiedel
(; Northern Bavarian: ''Wåuṉsieḏl'' or ''Wousigl'') is the seat of the Upper Franconian district of in northeast Bavaria, Germany. The town is the birthplace of poet Jean Paul. It also became known for its annual Festival and the Rudolf Hess Memorial March held there by Neo-Nazis until 2005. Hohenberg an der Eger is a town in the district of Wunsiedel, in Upper Franconia, Bavaria, Germany.
