Wovenwar was an American heavy metal music, metal band from Southern California, formed in 2013. They released their Wovenwar (album), self-titled debut album in 2014. The band's musical style on the album has been described as alternative metal, melodic metalcore, hard rock, and modern heavy metal. History In May 2013, As I Lay Dying (band), As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested for soliciting the murder of his wife. The remaining members soon began experimenting and writing with guitarist Shane Blay of Oh, Sleeper. Lambesis' arrest negatively affected his relationships with As I Lay Dying, which resulted in the departure of all members except for Jordan Mancino, who had been sharing an ownership for the band's rights with Lambesis since 2006. After a short meeting, they decided to put discussions of the future of As I Lay Dying on hold. Philip Joseph Sgrosso (born September 16, 1985) is an American musician, best known as former guitarist of the metalcore band As I Lay Dying (band), As I Lay Dying, the rhythm guitarist of the band Wovenwar, former touring guitarist for Nails (band), Nails, and the current lead guitarist for Saosin. Career Before joining the band that jumpstarted his musical career, Sgrosso was a part of a local act known as Tomra, a melodic metalcore band from San Diego, which disbanded in 2003. Joining As I Lay Dying at the age of 17, Sgrosso had honed his creative talents as one of the songwriters on 2005's ''Shadows Are Security''. His work with the band extends from solely instrumentation, with producing credits on the bands latter releases. Poison Headache
Poison Headache is an American thrash metal band that formed in 2010. The band consists of guitarist, bassist, and vocalist Phil Sgrosso, vocalist and guitarist Andy Kukta and drummer Kyle Rosa. History The band began in 2010 as a project of Phil Sgrosso, Kyle Rosa and Andy Kukta. The project formed after the demise of Kukta's band, Intermal Affairs. Sgrosso and Rosa knew each other from As I Lay Dying. Sgrosso performed guitar in the band, while Rosa toured with the band as a drum tech. He was also in Thieves & Liars until it disbanded. The band truly came to be in 2016, when the band signed to Metal Blade Records, while premiering the track "Sin Eater". It was later announced Sgrosso was a part of the project, while premiering a new track, "Conspirator". In Flames is a Swedish Heavy metal music, heavy metal band, formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in Gothenburg in 1990 out of the Swedish death metal, Swedish death metal scene. John William Stevenson (born September 10, 1963) is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is the drummer, main songwriter, and only constant member of the California punk rock group Descendents since its inception. In late December 1981, he played a few concerts with the hardcore punk band Black Flag because their drummer, Robo was detained in England after a tour there. He went on to record with Black Flag on several of their albums until 1985, including the highly influential '' My War''. After this, he focused his attention on Descendents and played with the band until lead singer Milo Aukerman left in 1987.
