The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a professional Canadian football team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Blue Bombers compete in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member club of the league's West Division (CFL), West division. They play their home games at Princess Auto Stadium. The Blue Bombers were founded in 1930 as the Winnipeg Rugby Football Club, later changed to the Winnipeg Football Club, which is the organization's legal name. The Blue Bombers are one of two Community ownership, community owned teams, without shareholders, in the CFL. The 72nd Grey Cup was the 1984 Canadian Football League championship game, played November 18, 1984 at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Banjo Bowl is the annual rematch game between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) after the Labour Day Classic. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are a professional Canadian football team based in Regina, Saskatchewan. CJOB (680 AM) is a commercial radio station in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is owned and operated by Corus Entertainment and airs a news/ talk format with news and sports programs. CJOB and its sister stations, CFPG-FM, CJKR-FM, and CKND-DT, have studios and offices at 201 Portage in Winnipeg. The transmitter tower array is located off Floodway Road near Saint Adolphe. 2021 CFL Season
The 2021 CFL season was the 67th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 63rd season of the Canadian Football League. The regular season began on August 5 and ended November 20. Each team played 14 regular season games over 16 weeks. Buzz and Boomer are the official mascots of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. 2 large blue-coloured birds, Buzz and Boomer made their debut in 1984 at Winnipeg Stadium. The 108th Grey Cup decided the Canadian Football League (CFL) championship for the 2021 season. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 season was cancelled and the start of the 2021 season was delayed, pushing the game to December 12, 2021.
