The West Georgia Wolves (UWG Wolves, formerly the West Georgia Braves) are the athletic teams that represent the University of West Georgia, located in Carrollton, Georgia, in NCAA Division I intercollegiate sports. The Wolves compete as members of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) for their 16 varsity sports. West Georgia had been a member of the Gulf South Conference since 1983, until it was announced that it would be joining NCAA Division I as an ASUN member starting in 2024, while the football team is part of the United Athletic Conference, a joint venture of the Atlantic Sun and Western Athletic Conference. The University of West Georgia is a public university in Carrollton, Georgia, United States. The university offers a satellite campus in Newnan, Georgia, Newnan, Georgia, select classes at its Douglasville Center, and off-campus Museum Studies classes at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, Georgia. NCAA Emerging Sports for Women are intercollegiate women's sports that are recognized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, but do not have sanctioned NCAA Championships. Will Hall (American Football)
Will Hall (born May 10, 1980) is an American college football coach who is currently the pass game coordinator for Tulane University, a position he has held since 2025. He previously served as the head coach for the University of Southern Mississippi from 2021 to 2024. Hall served as the head football coach at the University of West Alabama from 2011 to 2013 and at the University of West Georgia 2014 to 2016. He also served as offensive coordinator for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2017. The West Alabama Tigers football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of West Alabama located in the U.S. state of Alabama. The team competes in the NCAA Division II and is a member of the Gulf South Conference. West Alabama's first football team was fielded in 1938. Roger Kaiser
Roger Allen Kaiser (born February 23, 1939) is an American retired basketball player and coach. Kaiser was a two-time All-American player at Georgia Tech and won four NAIA national championships as a coach at West Georgia College (now the University of West Georgia) and Life University. Kaiser was the athletic director at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy in Marietta, Georgia until his retirement in 2014. Playing career Roger Kaiser was a 1957 Indiana All-Star player for the Dale (High School) Golden Aces of Dale, Indiana and played collegiately at Georgia Tech for head coach John "Whack" Hyder. Roger started on the Dale High varsity for 4 seasons, leading the Golden Aces to a record of 71–24; 2 Sectional titles and 2 PAC championships. Women's College World Series
The Women's College World Series (WCWS) is the final portion of the NCAA Division I softball tournament for college softball in the United States and is held annually in Oklahoma City, OK. The event is held at Devon Park (stadium), Devon Park located within the USA Softball Hall of Fame complex. The eight teams of the WCWS play a double-elimination tournament until just two teams remain. These two teams compete in a best-of-three series to determine the NCAA Division I, Division I WCWS National Champion. History The West Georgia football team, originally known as the Braves (which was the nickname until 2006), was founded in 1946, when the school, then known as West Georgia College, was a two-year institution.
