Vågan () is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Nordland Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is part of the Districts of Norway, traditional district of Lofoten. The administrative centre of the municipality is the List of towns and cities in Norway, town of Svolvær. Vågan Church
Vågan Church (; nickname: ''Lofoten Cathedral'') is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Vågan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Kabelvåg on the island of Austvågøya. It is the church for the Vågan parish which is part of the Lofoten prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The yellow, wooden church was built in a cruciform style in 1898 using plans drawn up by the architect Carl J. Bergstrøm. The church seats about 1,200 people, making it the largest wooden building in Northern Norway, hence the nickname ''Lofoten Cathedral''. Ole Morten Vågan
Ole Morten Vågan (born 8 May 1979) is a Norwegians, Norwegian jazz musician and composer (double bass, upright bass), and the older brother of guitarist Petter Vågan. He is known from several recordings and is currently acting as artistic director for the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. Vågan is also known from cooperating with some of the most influential musicians and composers internationally and has released eight albums as a leader, recently with the TJO (Happy Endlings, Odin records 2018), as well as six albums with his group Motif and one with the group The Deciders. Eldar Vågan
Eldar Vågan (born 30 August 1960) is best known as the songwriter and guitarist in Vazelina Bilopphøggers. Previously he was a guitarist in the rock band Baiage. Vågan has also developed his own solo musical career as well as being a published illustrator and acting in many Norwegian films and television productions. Bands Eldar Vågan and Bjørn Berg (vocalist on the first Vazelina-LP) were both in the band Baiage before Vazelina were formed. The 1979 lineup of Baiage was: Henning Hoel (guitar), Hallgeir Brumoen (singer), Eldar Vågan (guitar), Bjørnulf Dyrud (drummer), Jan Erik Dammerud (piano) and Bjørn Berg (bass). The band released one EP in 1979 entitled ''Baiage x 4'' as it included four tracks by the band. Baiage also took part in the National Battle of the Bands in 1979 and their song "På do" was included in the compilation album ''NM for rockeband LIVE''. Petter Vågan
Petter Vågan (born 6 July 1982 in Brønnøysund, Northern Norway) is a Norwegian singer, guitarist, composer, and the younger brother of double bass player Ole Morten Vågan. He is the bandleader, singer, and guitarist of the Norwegian indie electronica band The Fjords, founded in 2013. Career Vågan is based in Trondheim, where he got a performing master's degree in improvisation at the Jazz Dept at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium. In addition to his latest endeavours in pop music, he has delved into various forms of improvisation. He has released several records as a leader and band member with an experimental style rooted somewhere between electronic music, free jazz, rock, free improvisation, and noise music. He has toured extensively in Scandinavia, Russia, U.S., Japan, South Africa, Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands, and collaborated with many improvising musicians in Norway. Petter Vaagan Moen
Petter Vaagan Moen (born 5 February 1984) is a Norwegian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder for HamKam, Brann, Queens Park Rangers, Lillestrøm and Strømsgodset Toppfotball. Vaagan Moen has 44 national junior caps (16 caps and one goal for Norway's U21 national team which he captained from autumn 2005 until 2006). Career HamKam Vaagan Moen started his career in HamKam and helped the club to promotion to the Tippeliga in 2003.
