Vyškov
Vyškov (; ) is a town in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 21,000 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected as an urban monument zone. Dědice (Vyškov)
Dědice is an administrative part of the town of Vyškov in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. According to archeological findings, Dědice is one of the oldest settlements in Moravia. In the town there is a parish church of the Holy Trinity, in the tower of which there is a protected area, in which Greater mouse-eared bat stays during the summer. There have been military barracks in Dědice since 1935. Dědice is also the alleged birthplace of Klement Gottwald, who used to have an exhibition hall in Revoluční Street in the so-called "birth house of Klement Gottwald (1954)". This building, to which, after the modifications begun in May 1954 crowds of schoolchildren and workers were bound to go, is publicly accepted by historians after the Velvet Revolution as a place where Gottwald was not born with certainty. Pařezovice
Pařezovice () is a village and municipal part of Vyškov, a town in Vyškov District of the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. Cadastrally, it lies in Lhota (Vyškov), Lhota. It has about 40 inhabitants. It is located northwest of Vyškov and from Brno. History Pařezovice was founded in 1766 on the site of a cut-down forest. During the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, German occupation in 1941, the inhabitants of 33 municipalities were evicted from the Drahany Highlands, including Pařezovice. The village was merged with Lhota (Vyškov), Lhota and in 1964 with Rychtářov. All of the three settlements later became part of Vyškov. Vyškov Gate
The Vyškov Gate (, , , ) is a geomorphological feature in the Moravia (Czech Republic). It is formed by the depression between the Western Carpathian Mountains in the east and the Bohemian massif (Drahanská vrchovina) in the west. The drainage divide between the upper River Haná to the River Morava of the Danube basin runs through it and Rakovec brook (in the Dyje–Svratka Valley). The gate is between the Upper Morava Valley (in the north-east) and the Dyje–Svratka Valley (in the south-west), all in Outer Subcarpathian depression. Pazderna (Vyškov)
Pazderna, formerly Pazderňa, is a municipal part of Vyškov, Czech Republic. Located approximately northwest of the center of Vyškov, it is enclaved inside the municipal part of Dědice. History Pazderna was founded on the Vyškov estate and the Víceměřice estate around 1760. An embryo of the village can be seen on the map of the 1st military survey carried out in the 1880s. Like Hamiltony, it was a settlement of the town of Dědice. The drive to Tomáškův mlýn (lit. 'Tomášek's mill') began on the edge of Pazderna. The weir on the Haná river was damaged during the flood that occurred from 22 to 23 March 1931. The drive was filled in during the regulation of Haná. Drahany Highlands
Drahany is a market town in Prostějov District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 500 inhabitants. Etymology According to one theory, the name is derived from the personal name Drahan. According to other theory, it is derived from the old Czech word ''draha'' (i.e. 'way', 'road') and referred to a road from Brno to Prostějov that led this way.
