Vietnam Idol
''Vietnam Idol'' ( or from season five) is a Vietnamese reality television competition to find new solo singing talents. It is part of the Idol series, ''Idol'' franchise; it originated from the reality program ''Pop Idol'' created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller. Starting from season eight, the show is produced by Vietnam Television and Cát Tiên Sa. History ''Vietnam Idol'' was created based on the British show ''Pop Idol'' and U.S. show ''American Idol''. Đông Tây Promotion and its sponsor partner Unilever secured the format license for US$2 million, which was the highest licensing fee paid for a reality TV show in Vietnam at the time. The show debuted in 2007 in Vietnam under the name ''Thần tượng âm nhạc: Vietnam Idol'' ("music idol: Vietnam idol"), broadcast by Ho Chi Minh City Television under the production of Đông Tây Promotion. Simon Fuller
Simon Robert Fuller (born 17 May 1960) is a British entrepreneur, artist manager, and film and television producer. He is the creator of the Idols (franchise), ''Idols'' TV format, including the British series ''Pop Idol'' and the American series ''American Idol''. Fuller came to prominence in the 1990s for managing the British girl group the Spice Girls, and he has since managed acts in various fields of entertainment, from sports stars David Beckham and Lewis Hamilton to other musicians such as Amy Winehouse and Annie Lennox. Since 2020, Fuller has been working with tech firm TikTok to aid development of new TikTok creatives and in the same year he announced a partnership with Verizon Communications to develop 5G content. VTV3 is a state-owned Vietnamese television channel owned by the Vietnam Television, launched officially on 31 March 1996. Nguyễn Bằng Kiều (born 13 July 1973 in Hanoi), is a Vietnamese ballad singer. He is a former member of bands including Golden Keys, Frangipani, and Watermelon. In 2000, he became a solo artist. In 2002, he relocated to America and married female singer Trizzie Phuong Trinh. From 2004 to 2008, his Vietnam citizenship was revoked due to an unresolved dispute. Thanh Bui
North was an Australian boy band established in 2004. Popular primarily in Asia, the group had top ten singles in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and India. Their debut single was a cover of Peter Cetera's " Glory of Love" which reached No. 1 in both Indonesia and Thailand. North disbanded in 2006. Vietnam Idol (season 4)
The fourth season of ''Vietnam Idol'' aired on August 17, 2012. This year sees some major changes in the show's structure. Mỹ Tâm joins the judging panel as the replacement for Siu Black while Quốc Trung and Nguyễn Quang Dũng remains on the panel. Huy Khánh takes over as the host for this season. This season will follow the same format as American Idol (season 11), American Idol season 11. Vietnam Idol used the new title screen and logo with a different font started from Spectacular round.
