Vejle Municipality
Vejle Municipality () is a '' kommune'' in the Region of Southern Denmark on the Jutland peninsula in southeast Denmark. The municipality covers an area of (2013), and has a population of 122,433 (1. January 2025). Its mayor is Jens Ejner Christensen, a member of the agrarian liberal party Venstre. Vejle Municipality's offices are located in its largest population center, the city of Vejle. In its current configuration, Vejle Municipality was formed under the Municipal Reform of 2007 (''Kommunalreformen'') by merging the previously existing Vejle Municipality with the neighboring municipalities of Børkop, Egtved, Give (except for properties in two parishes Lindeballe and Ringive occupied by Billund Airport, which became part of Billund Municipality), Jelling, as well as the parish of Grejs, which formerly belonged to the municipality of Tørring-Uldum. Municipalities Of Denmark
Denmark is divided into five regions of Denmark, regions, which contain 98 municipalities (, ; , ). The Capital Region of Denmark, Capital Region has 29 municipalities, Region of Southern Denmark, Southern Denmark 22, Central Denmark Region, Central Denmark 19, Region Zealand, Zealand 17 and North Denmark Region, North Denmark 11. Billund Airport
Billund Airport () is an airport in Denmark. Located northeast of Billund, Denmark, Billund, it serves as one of the country's busiest Cargo airline, air cargo centres, as well as a charter airline destination. It is the List of the busiest airports in the Nordic countries, 10th busiest airport in the Nordic countries. History Early years Billund Airport had its beginning in 1961 when the son of the founder of the Lego Group, Godtfred Kirk Christiansen, established a private 800-meter long runway and hangar north of his factory in Billund. With Christiansen as a key driver, more of the neighbouring municipalities were included in the group of owners, and it was planned that the airport should be expanded to a regular public airport. Egtved
Egtved is a village with a population of 2,433 (as of 1 January 2025) near Vejle, Denmark in Vejle municipality in the Denmark, Danish Region of Southern Denmark. Nearby is Tørskind Gravel Pit, a sculpture park. The village has a Romanesque architecture, Romanesque church built in 1170, to which a tower was added in 1863. The Egtved Runestone, found near the church in 1863, is now on display in the church. Egtved Girl Near the village is a Bronze Age archaeological site (ca. 1370 BC) which contained an extremely well-preserved burial. It was discovered in 1921 and is one of the best preserved Bronze Age findings in Denmark. It contained the well preserved body of a girl known as the ''Egtved Girl''. On the site where she was found a tumulus, barrow with a diameter of 22 metres and a height of 4 metres was built. Jelling
Jelling is a railway town in Denmark with a population of 4,038 (1 January 2025), located in Jelling Parish, approximately 10 km northwest of Vejle. The town lies 105 metres above sea level. Give is a small railway town, with a population of 5,050 (1 January 2025),BY3: Population 1. East Jutland Metropolitan Area
East Jutland metropolitan area () is a potential metropolitan area in Jutland and Funen, Denmark. Aarhus is the most populated city in the region. The National Planning Report of 2006, published by the Danish Environment Ministry, argued that "East Jutland is developing into a coherent area with high population growth and division of labour between the cities in the urban band that extends from Kolding to Randers" and foresaw "the contours of a future million-city". Triangle Region Denmark ( [ˈtʁeːkandˌɔmʁoðəd]) is a cooperation consisting of seven Denmark, Danish municipalities on the Danish peninsula of Jutland and the island of Funen: Billund Municipality, Billund, Fredericia Municipality, Fredericia, Haderslev Municipality, Haderslev, Kolding Municipality, Kolding, Middelfart Municipality, Middelfart, Vejen Municipality, Vejen and Vejle Municipality, Vejle.
