Ulstein Group is a group of companies focusing on various marine-related industries, but is mainly known for its shipbuilding and ship design activities. The largest unit is ''Ulstein Verft AS''. Ulstein Municipality
Ulstein is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Møre og Romsdal Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre Districts of Norway, region. The commercial and administrative centre of Ulstein is the town of Ulsteinvik. The municipality occupies the western half of the island of Hareidlandet, as well as about 30 smaller islands, four of which are populated. Ulstein Church
Ulstein Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Ulstein Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the town of Ulsteinvik on the western side of the island of Hareidlandet. It is the church for the Ulstein parish which is part of the Søre Sunnmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was designed in an octagonal design in 1849 using plans drawn up by Hans Nicolai Wraamann, the local parish priest. The church seats about 400 people. Originally, the church was built about north of Ulsteinvik, but in 1878 it was taken down and moved into Ulsteinvik. Dag-Inge Ulstein (born 4 December 1980) is a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party (Norway), Christian Democratic Party serving as the party leader since 2024. He previously served as its deputy leader. Gunvor Ulstein
Gunvor Ulstein (born June 11, 1969) is a Norwegian businesswoman, CEO of Ulstein Group, Head of the Board at Ulsmo and a number of companies in Ulstein Group, and Deputy Chair of the Board in Ulstein Group. She is a member of the Board in Hafast (Hareid Fastlandssamband), an association engaged in mainland connection from Hareid to Ålesund via Sula, a board member of SOS Children's Villages and the ÅKP-IMD Advisory Board. Idar Ulstein
Idar Lars Ulstein (2 April 1934 – 29 April 2012) was a Norwegian businessman. He was educated as a naval architect at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim, Norway. After completion of his education in 1962, he entered the family business Ulstein Group, and was manager of the company until he retired as chief executive in 1997. He then served as chairman of the board until 2011. Idar Ulstein was a member of the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences, and was appointed Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav for his "service to Norwegian industry". Ragnar Ulstein
Ragnar Leif Ulstein MM (19 April 1920 – 3 December 2019) was a Norwegian journalist, writer and resistance member. He wrote several documentary books from the Second World War, including surveys of the SOE group Norwegian Independent Company 1, volunteers sailing from Norway to Scotland, refugee traffic from Norway to Sweden, and military intelligence in Norway. Early life and World War II Ulstein was born in Ulstein Municipality, Sunnmøre, as the son of Johannes Olsson Ulstein (1879–1969) and Borghild Strand (1885–1964). He finished his secondary education at Volda in June 1940. Later that year he fled to the United Kingdom due to World War II and the German occupation of Norway.
