''Ulā'' () relays a ''puram (poetry), puṟam'' concept using ''akam (poetry), akam'' imagery. By the Middle Ages, the strict separation between ''akam'' and ''puṟam'' was no longer observed. Chola poet Ottakoothar wrote three Ula poems namely, Koluthunga Cholan Ulla, ''Vikkiramacolanula'' and Rajarajan Cholan Ulla which come from a genre merging ''akam'' and ''puṟam'' called ''ulā''. They describe the royal procession of the king through the streets observed by women. Despite their different ages and social estates, all of them experience love sickness brought on by the King's magnificence. Ula, Muğla
Ula is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Muğla Province, Turkey. Its area is 479 km2, and its population is 26,613 (2022). Its name reflects the ancient town of Ula (Caria), Ula in ancient Caria, whose site is conjectured to be nearby. The town of Ula is situated at a distance of only from the province seat of Muğla, a mile after a bifurcation on the road to Marmaris. It is notable for its old houses in the Turkish style and the vast forest region that extends to the south along the country road called Çiçekli after the town. Ula () is an offshore oil field located in the southern Norwegian section of North Sea along with Gyda, Tambar and Tambar East fields making up the UGT area, usually attributed to DONG Energy's main areas of exploration and production activity. The Ula field was discovered in 1976 and came online in October 1986. It contains confirmed 69.98 million m3 of oil and 2.5 million of NGL.
