Uganda Television
Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) is the public broadcaster network of Uganda. It was founded as a result of the "Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act, 2004", which merged the operations of Uganda Television (UTV) and Radio Uganda. It started broadcasting on November 16, 2005. The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act stated that the UBC should be funded by the levying of a television licence fee. Collection of a licence fee set at USh (around €8.40 or US$10.80) started in 2005. However, collection was subsequently halted by President Yoweri Museveni. There has since been pressure to reinstate the licence fee to maintain UBC's independence. UBC operates the UBC TV channel and five radio stations. Until May 2011, Edward Musinguzi was the managing director. United Television Ghana Limited (UTV Ghana) is a private, free-to-air television broadcaster in Ghana. It was launched in 2013 by The Despite Group of Companies, headed by Mr. Osei Kwame Despite. UTV Ghana airs and produces a variety of television programmes including news bulletins, dramas and successful telenovelas, films and other entertainment. History UTV started broadcasting in 2013 and by 2015 had become the most-watched channel in Ghana. In the third quarter of 2015, the channel had an average share of 22.4%. A side-by-side vehicle (SxS or SSV), is a utility vehicle with a minimum of two seats positioned side by side and enclosed within a roll cage structure. They have a minimum of four wheels (or continuous tracks) and are operated by foot controls and a steering wheel.
