UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup
The UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup is a season-long competition in cyclo-cross, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Flanders Classics. First held in the 1993–1994 season, there are currently six awards, tailored to the different categories of riders: Elite Men, Elite Women, Under 23 Men, Under 23 Women, Junior Men and Junior Women. Union Cycliste Internationale
The Union Cycliste Internationale (; UCI; ) is the world governing body for sports cycling and oversees international competitive cycling events. The UCI is based in Aigle, Switzerland. The UCI issues racing licenses to riders and enforces disciplinary rules, such as in matters of doping. The UCI also manages the classification of races and the points ranking system in various cycling disciplines including road and track cycling, mountain biking, cyclo-cross, Gravel, and BMX, for both men and women, amateur and professional. 2023–24 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup
[] The 2023–24 Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup was a season-long cyclo-cross competition, organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), taking place between 15 October 2023 and 28 January 2024. The defending champions were Laurens Sweeck in the men's competition and Fem van Empel in the women's competition. Points distribution Points were awarded to all eligible riders at each race. From this season, the points awarded are according to the same scale for all categories, but only the top 25 riders receive points rather than the top 50. Adrie Van Der Poel
Adri van der Poel (born 17 June 1959) is a retired Dutch cycle sport, cyclist. Van der Poel was a professional from 1981 to 2000. His biggest wins included six classics, two stages of the Tour de France and the World Cyclo-Cross Championships in 1996. He also obtained the second place and silver medal in the World Road Championships in 1983 behind Greg LeMond and five second places in the World Cyclo-Cross championships. The Grand Prix Adrie van der Poel is named after him. Career Van der Poel began his career on the road and during his first season as a professional he obtained second place in Paris–Nice behind Stephen Roche and second place in the La Flèche Wallonne. In the Tour de France, he won two stages; his stage win in 1988 set the record for fastest stage (since then only surpassed by three cyclists). Beat Wabel
Beat Wabel (born 23 May 1967) is a Swiss former professional cyclist. He competed in the men's cross-country mountain biking event at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Professional from 1991 to 2005, he won the UCI Junior Cyclo-cross World Championships in 1985 and the Swiss National Cyclo-cross Championships five times. He also won a bronze medal in the elite race at the 1995 UCI World Championships. He is the brother of Yvonne Schnorf-Wabel. Luca Bramati
Luca Bramati (born 6 November 1968) is an Italian former cyclo-cross and cross-country mountain bike cyclist. He most notably won the Cyclo-cross Superprestige and World Cup in the 1995–96 season. He also finished third in the 1996 and 1997 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships, as well as third in the 1997 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. Bramati also competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the Cross-country event. Dominique Arnould
Dominique Arnould (born 19 November 1966 in Luxeuil-les-Bains in Haute-Saône, France) is a French former professional road, cyclo-cross and mountain bike cyclist. As a professional, the greatest wins in Arnould's career were the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships in 1993 and a stage win in the 1992 Tour de France. In addition Arnould was the Cyclo-Cross Champion of France five times between 1989 and 2003. He also raced professionally for the Giant mountain bike team, earning several top ten results at world championships in this discipline as well.
