Tübingen (district)
Tübingen is a Districts of Germany, ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Böblingen (district), Böblingen, Reutlingen (district), Reutlingen, Zollernalbkreis and Freudenstadt (district), Freudenstadt. History The district dates back to the ''Oberamt Tübingen'' in the state of Württemberg. In 1811 the ''Oberamt Rottenburg'' was created, and both were converted into districts in 1934. In 1938 most of the district Rottenburg as well as a few municipalities from the district Herrenberg and Reutlingen were added to the district Tübingen. In 1974 it was enlarged again when some municipalities from the dissolved district Horb were added. Geography The main river in the district is the Neckar. Tübingen
Tübingen (; ) is a traditional college town, university city in central Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated south of the state capital, Stuttgart, and developed on both sides of the Neckar and Ammer (Neckar), Ammer rivers. about one in three of the 90,000 people living in Tübingen is a student. As of the 2018/2019 winter semester, 27,665 students attend the University of Tübingen, Eberhard Karl University of Tübingen. Ammerbuch
Ammerbuch is a municipality in the district of Tübingen of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 7 km northwest of Tübingen and between 345 and 551 meters above sea level. The name Ammerbuch is a portmanteau of the two locations between which the municipality is situated — Ammer Valley and the Schönbuch nature park. The former municipal coat of arms shows in gold (yellow) a rooted green beech, covered with a lowered blue wave beam. The tree symbolizes the Schönbuch, the blue wave beam the Ammer. The six aspiring branches and six indigenous roots of beech represent the six villages that form village Ammerbuch today. Starzach
Starzach ( Swabian: ''Schdarzach'') is a municipality in the district of Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. Starzach is located about 20 kilometers southwest from Tübingen. Geographical location Starzach is located on the Neckar between Rottenburg am Neckar and Horb am Neckar. Two community members (Börstingen and Sulzau) are in the Neckar valley, three others (Felldorf, Bierlingen and Wachendorf) south above it. Nehren, Baden-Württemberg
Nehren is a community on the outskirts of the Swabian Jura and belongs to the district of Tübingen and its catchment area. The following communities and towns border on the community of Nehren (clockwise, beginning in the north): Gomaringen, Mössingen, Ofterdingen and Dußlingen. Kirchentellinsfurt ( Swabian: ''Kircha'') is a municipality in the district of Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg in Germany, about 7 km east of the city of Tübingen and 7 km northwest of Reutlingen. Dußlingen
Dußlingen is a municipality in the district of Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. The village was named for the first time in the records as 'villa Tuzzilinga' in the year 888. By 1135 it was called Tuzzelingen, in 1216 it was called Tusselingen. The name itself comes from the personal name Tuzzilo, and the -ingen is an old Alemannic suffix. Dußlingen has a rich history, proven by artifacts that have been found from the stone age, the Hallstatt age, Latene period, and Roman era. Like other villages in medieval times, the income from the church and from the farms was distributed to a series of nobles, typically as rewards or in payment for fealty and service. The Knights of Dußlingen were subjects of the Count of Tübingen, and seem to have flourished in the period from 1250 to 1400.
