Trinidad State College
Trinidad State College is a public community college in Trinidad, Colorado. It was founded in 1925, making it the first community college in the state of Colorado. Trinidad State also operates a satellite campus in the city of Alamosa, Colorado, roughly 100 miles northwest of Trinidad. The college offers 49 degree programs in vocational fields. The college's name changed from Trinidad State Junior College to Trinidad State College in 2021. Academics TSC offers courses in many diverse areas, including gunsmithing, aquaculture, cosmetology, welding, nursing, as well as traditional arts and STEM subjects such as English, biology, and chemistry. Additionally, TSC trains first-responders with both an affiliated Emergency medical services training center in Grand Junction, Colorado, and its own on-campus Peace Officer Standards and Training program. Kenneth Darnell Bannister (born April 1, 1960) is a retired American professional basketball player, from Baltimore, Maryland. At 6' 9" tall he was a power forward- center. College career Bannister played college basketball at Trinidad State Junior College, Indiana State University, and Saint Augustine's College. Professional career Bannister was selected by the New York Knicks, in the 7th round (156th overall), of the 1984 NBA draft. Bannister played in 5 NBA seasons. Larry James Walton (born February 8, 1947) is an American former professional football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Trinidad Trojans and the Arizona State Sun Devils. Walton was selected by the Detroit Lions in the third round of the 1969 NFL draft.
