The transportation system of Arizona comprises car, rail, air, bus, and bicycle transport. Transit systems Rail Amtrak operates the ''Southwest Chief'', ''Sunset Limited'', and '' Texas Eagle'' through Arizona. Two Amtrak routes serve Arizona communities: the ''Southwest Chief'' passes through Winslow, Flagstaff, and Kingman, while the '' Texas Eagle'' passes through Benson, Tucson, Maricopa and Yuma. Valley Metro Rail is a light rail system serving the Phoenix metropolitan area in Arizona, USA. The network, which is part of the Valley Metro public transit system, began operations on December 27, 2008. In , the system had a ridership of , or about per weekday as of .
