Inčukalns (German language, German: ''Hinzenberg'') is a village in Sigulda Municipality in the Vidzeme region of Latvia. Started in 1436, the parish was for centuries a part of Medieval Livonia. Daugavpils (see also other names) is a state city in southeastern Latvia, located on the banks of the Daugava River, from which the city derives its name. The parts of the city to the north of the river belong to the historical Latvian region of Latgale, and those to the south lie in Selonia. It is the second-largest city in the country after the capital Riga, which is located some northwest and is the ninth most populous city in the Baltic states. Salaspils
Salaspils (; ; ) (literally: "island castle") is a town in the Vidzeme region of Latvia. It is the administrative centre of Salaspils Municipality. The town is situated on the northern bank of the Daugava river, 18 kilometers to the south-east of the city of Riga. History Salaspils is one of the oldest settlements in Latvia. Archaeological excavations of 1964–1975 (during the construction of Riga HES) in ancient settlements, burial grounds and castle mounds give evidence of very dense population of the region. At this time, the remains of 11,000-year-old reindeer hunters were found (the oldest known human settlement in all of Latvia) and 3500-year-old remains of Baltic hunters, buried in hollowed-out oak-tree trunks, were found as well. There is evidence that both Livonian people, Livs and Balts built hill forts in the region. A5 Road (Latvia)
The A5 is a national road in Latvia which is part beltway around Riga, connecting Salaspils to Babīte. The road is also known as Riga bypass. The road is part of European route E67, European route E77 and Latvian TEN-T road network. The length of A5 is 41 kilometer. Currently A5 has 1x1 lanes until interchange with A9 then it turns to 2x2 all the way until Babīte. Most of the traffic on A5 is made up by trucks. A5 crosses river Daugava on Riga HES, and the A5 part on the HES has been reconstructed in 2010/2011. Another part of A5 between A8 and A9 was reconstructed in 2011. There are plans to build a new bridge over Daugava opposite to the end of A4 (part of Riga bypass on other side of Daugava), in further future. Current speed limit is 90 km/h. Baltezers, Ādaži Municipality
Baltezers is a village in Ādaži Parish, Ādaži Municipality in the historical region of Vidzeme, and the Riga Planning Region in Latvia. A4 Road (Latvia)
The A4 (Also known as the Riga Bypass) is a national road in Latvia and part of the Riga ring road, connecting Baltezers to Saulkalne. The road is part of European route E67, European route E77 and Latvian TEN-T road network. It has one lane in each direction spanning the entire length. It was reported that around 2020 widening of the road to 2x2 lanes will commence.
