Background In January 2013, Mon Laferte launched her third album ''Tornasol''. ''Desechable'' is the second studio album by Chilean and Mexican singer Mon Laferte, released on 23 June 2011. It was released eight years after her debut album '' La Chica de Rojo'' in 2003. The album was published independently by Laferte after two years of recording in Mexico. Background After the release of her first album, '' La Chica de Rojo'', under the name Monserrat Bustamante, she moved in 2007 to Mexico City where she began singing in nightclubs and recording cover songs. In 2009, she released a single titled "Lo Mismo Que Yo", which was to be the lead single from an upcoming album. The same year, Laferte was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, effectively putting a halt to her album.
