Anthony Tillmon Williams (December 12, 1945 – February 23, 1997) was an American jazz drummer. Williams first gained fame as a member of Miles Davis' " Second Great Quintet", and later pioneered jazz fusion with Davis' group and his own combo, the Tony Williams Lifetime. In 1970, music critic Robert Christgau described him as "probably the best drummer in the world." Williams was inducted into the '' Modern Drummer'' Hall of Fame in 1986 and the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame in 1997. Life and career Williams was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. He was of African, Portuguese, and Chinese descent. He studied with drummer Alan Dawson at the age of 11, and began playing professionally at the age of 13 with saxophonist Sam Rivers. Saxophonist Jackie McLean hired Williams when he was 16. Henry Anthony Williams (28 May 1939 – 1 October 2016), known professionally as Toni Williams or Antoni Williams, was a Cook Island-born New Zealand pop singer, who began singing at the Gandhi Hall in Auckland City where he became a local sensation. Tony Williams (criminal)
Anthony Williams, self-styled as Lord Williams of Tomintoul and known as the Laird of Tomintoul, is a British accountant and convicted fraudster. He owned the title Baron of Chirnside bought with money stolen from the Metropolitan Police and was sold on at auction by the Metropolitan Police. Whilst employed as a finance officer at the Metropolitan Police in London, Williams embezzled over £5 million and used it to buy property in the Scottish village of Tomintoul. In 1995, he was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. His life and crimes have been the subject of a documentary on BBC Scotland. According to some residents of Tomintoul, Williams' investments in the town had large positive effects on its economy. The Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship (also F1) is an international motorboat racing competition for powerboats organised by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) and promoted by H2O Racing, hence it often being referred to as F1H2O. It is the highest class of inshore powerboat racing in the world, and as such, with it sharing the title of F1, is similar to Formula One car racing. Anthony Williams (born 19 August 1947) is an English musician who played bass guitar in the folk rock/rock band Stealers Wheel and who also played with Jethro Tull. Career Born in Durham City, he later moved to Blackpool, Lancashire where other future band members of Jethro Tull also lived including, Ian Anderson, Barriemore Barlow, John Evan and Jeffrey Hammond. In the 1960s he played guitar with The Executives, a Blackpool based Mod band who recorded a handful of singles with frontman Roy Carr and future Jethro Tull bassist Glenn Cornick. Williams originally auditioned to join Jethro Tull in 1968 along with Martin Barre. He also brought out a single, "Lazy River". From 1970 to 1971 he played bass guitar with the band Requiem. Tony Williams is a retired American soccer player who spent his entire career with the Richmond Kickers. In 1994, Williams graduated from St. John Vianney High School. He attended Clemson University, playing on the men's soccer team from 1994 to 1997.
