Tonka
Tonka is an American brand and former manufacturer of toy trucks. The company was founded in 1946 and operated as an independent manufacturer of popular steel toy construction type trucks and machinery, until its sale to Hasbro in 1991. History Tonka began as "Mound Metalcraft", a gardening tools company, in the fall of 1946 in Mound, Minnesota, Mound, Minnesota. Lynn Everett Baker (1898–1964), Avery F. Crounse, and Alvin F. Tesch created the company in an old schoolhouse. Their building's former occupant, the Streater Company, had made and patented several toys, including toy trucks. E. C. Streater was not interested in the toy business so they approached Mound Metalcraft. The three men at Mound Metalcraft thought they might make a good sideline to their other products. Star Fairies
''Star Fairies'' was a doll toy series of the 1980s made by the Tonka company. The dolls had different costumes and personalities. Star Fairies was adapted into a televised special, made by Hanna-Barbera in 1985. Family Home Entertainment released the special on VHS in 1986. Television film The film is about a princess Star Fairy named ''Sparkle'' ( B.J. Ward) who lives up in the clouds in Castle WishStar. Sparkle's job is to grant wishes to children who wish upon a star, but lately she has been overwhelmed by the increasing number of wishes being made. So she asks for help from the Wishing Well ( Jonathan Winters), who instructs her to go to Mount Wishmore and wish on a shooting star. Lake Minnetonka (Dakota language, Dakota: ''Mní iá Tháŋka'') is a lake located about west-southwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lake Minnetonka has about 23 named bays and areas. The lake lies within Hennepin County, Minnesota, Hennepin and Carver County, Minnesota, Carver counties and is surrounded by 13 incorporated municipalities. At , it is Minnesota's ninth largest lake. Lake Minnetonka was formed around 10,000 years ago during the retreat of the Laurentide ice sheet. The lake consists of interconnected kettle (landform), kettle lakes, channels, and marshlands, along with 18 islands, giving it an irregular shape and of shoreline. Human habitation in the area dates back approximately 10,000 years, beginning with ancestral Paleo-Indians, Indigenous peoples.
