Tiertex Design Studios Games
Tiertex Design Studios Limited was a British software development company and former video game developer based in Macclesfield, England; it was founded in 1986, focusing on porting games to home computers and handheld platforms. It developed over 200 titles, including many under license from companies such as THQ, Disney Interactive and BBC Multimedia. In later years, it struggled with the move to the seventh generation of video game consoles so pivoted to developing USB development boards and displays for industrial purposes. On 5 August 2021, the company closed its doors. Mercs
''Mercs'', released as in Japan, is a 1990 run and gun video game developed and published by Capcom for arcades. It is a sequel to the 1985 arcade video game ''Commando'' ( in Japan). While not as successful as its predecessor, ''Mercs'' was well received by critics and was a moderate commercial success. It was followed by '' Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3'' in 2008, a downloadable game. Gameplay The arcade version of the game had up to three players available for play. The players are members of a covert mercenary team known as the "Wolf Force". The team is composed of Joseph Gibson (Player 1 in blue), Howard Powell (Player 2 in red), and Thomas Clarke (Player 3 in yellow). Their objective is to rescue a former President from rebels in the fictional African country of Zutula, which is administered by an apartheid government. ''Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of the Lance'' is a video game released in 1988 for various home computer systems and consoles. The game is based on the first ''Dragonlance'' campaign module for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' fantasy role-playing game, ''Dragons of Despair'', and the first Dragonlance novel ''Dragons of Autumn Twilight''. Gameplay ''Heroes of the Lance'' is a side-scrolling action game. The eight heroes from the ''Dragonlance'' series are assembled for the quest, but only one is visible on the screen at a time; when the on-screen hero dies, the next in line appears. ''Heroes of the Lance'' uses ''Dungeons & Dragons'' game statistics, with character statistics taken exactly from the rule books. Alien Storm
is a beat 'em up shooter released as an arcade video game by Sega in 1990. It was ported to the Genesis/Mega Drive and Master System. The Mega Drive version was re-released on Wii's Virtual Console in 2007 and was also included on ''Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection'' for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game was also re-released on the Nintendo Classics service in 2022. ''Ace of Aces'' is a combat flight simulation game developed by Artech Digital Entertainment and published in 1986 by Accolade in North America and U.S. Gold in Europe. It was released for the Amstrad CPC, Atari 8-bit computers, Atari 7800, Commodore 64, MSX, MS-DOS, Master System, and ZX Spectrum. Set in World War II, the player flies a RAF Mosquito long range fighter-bomber equipped with rockets, bombs and a cannon. Missions include destroying German fighter planes, bombers, V-1 flying bombs, U-boats, and trains.
