Tatar Culture
The culture of Tatarstan is molded from the culture of Volga Tatar people, Russian culture, Russian, and Culture of Europe, European culture. Education The education system in Tatarstan is secular. The literacy rate for the total population is about 100%. Elementary and secondary education is compulsory (grades 1–10). Students must pass graduation exams at the end of the 10th grade in order to continue their education in colleges and universities. Most schools are public along with a small number of parochial schools run by churches or mosques. The school year begins in September. Flag Of Tatarstan
The state flag of Tatarstan, a republic of Russia, was introduced in 1991. History The Supreme Council of the Tatar Soviet Socialist Republic adopted the flag on 29 November 1991 in its present form. It was designed by T.G. Khaziakhmetov (Tawil Xaciəxmətov). Kazan Federal University (; ) is a public research university located in Kazan, Russia. The university was founded in 1804 as Imperial Kazan University, which makes it the second oldest continuously existing tertiary education institution in Russia. Şüräle or Shurale (Tatar language, Tatar and Bashkir language, Bashkir: Шүрәле, Şüräle) is a forest spirit in Turkic mythology (especially Tatars, Tatar and Bashkirs, Bashkir). According to legends, Shurali lives in forests. He has long fingers, a horn on its forehead, and a woolly body. He lures victims into the thickets and can tickle them to death. Vasili Vinogradov
Vasili (or Vasily) Ivanovich Vinogradov (, ; 1874–1948) was an ethnically Russian Tatar opera composer, violinist and pedagogue, awarded as a TASSR Honoured Worker of Culture in 1944.
