Taraneh Alidoosti
Taraneh Alidoosti (, ; born 12 January 1984) is an Iranian actress. She is best known internationally for her role in '' The Salesman'' (2016), which won the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 89th Academy Awards. In a poll conducted among 130 film critics by ''Sanate Cinema'' magazine, she was voted the best Iranian movie actress of the decade. In 2012, a similar poll by the ''Film'' magazine also chose her as the best actress of the decade. Career After having attended the acting school of Amin Tarokh since 2000, she had a leading role in '' I'm Taraneh, 15'' ( Rasul Sadr Ameli, 2002). Taraneh Boroumand
Taraneh Boroumand () is an Iranian playwright, writer, poet, and translator. She is the author of a collection of short stories, a book of poetry, and three plays. She is best known for her theatrical debut ''Gereh-i dar Tār-o-Pūd-e Naqš'' ("A Knot in the Warp and Weft of a Design"), a play about a journey and decision through which one character ultimately finds herself and another loses himself. It made its debut at the 27th Fajr International Theater Festival in 2007 where it was selected as the Year’s Top Drama. The play went on to a successful run across Iran and neighboring countries. Early life She was born in Tehran to a literary family. Her father was a librarian and historian. Her uncle Adib Boroumand was an Iranian poet, politician, lawyer, head of the Leadership Council, and Chairman of Central Council of the National Front of Iran. Taraneh Hemami
Taraneh Hemami (b. 1960; Persian: ) is an Iranian-born American visual artist, curator, and arts educator based in San Francisco. Her works explore the complex cultural politics of exile through personal and collective, multidisciplinary projects often through site specific installation art or participatory engagement projects. Biography Born in Tehran, she moved to the United States in 1978 to attend college, right before the Iranian Revolution. In 1982, Hemami received her BFA degree in Painting and Drawing from University of Oregon, Eugene, and in 1991 her MFA degree in Painting from California College of the Arts (CCA), where she now teaches. Hemami's work is often handcrafted and has included replicating government posters, shattered glass stylized as traditional Muslim prayer rugs, a laser-cut wool carpet map of Tehran and beaded curtains. Taraneh Javanbakht
Taraneh Javanbakht (, born 12 May 1974) is an Iranian-Canadian scientist and polymath. Early life and education Javanbakht was born in Tehran in 1974 and grew up there. She first graduated with a degree in chemistry from the University of Shahid Beheshti in 1996. In 2002 she was awarded her first Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the Pierre and Marie Curie University. She moved to the University of Montreal to continue her postdoctoral work. Whilst in Canada, Javanbakht has studied for additional Masters qualifications at Université du Québec à Montréal: for molecular biology in 2011 and for the study of logic in the Department of Philosophy in 2016. A polymath or polyhistor is an individual whose knowledge spans many different subjects, known to draw on complex bodies of knowledge to solve specific problems. Taraneh Mousavi
Taraneh Mousavi (; 1981–2009) was a young Iranian woman who reportedly died after being sexually abused while in custody after being arrested for protesting the 2009 election results. Most information about her comes from Iranian blogs and Internet sites and has not been verified. But Morteza Alviri, representative to a committee tasked with investigating post-election crimes, confined the affair of Taraneh Mousavi. Mousavi was reportedly arrested at a protest rally close to the Ghoba mosque in Tehran on June 28, 2009. Reports are unclear as to whether she was participating in the rally.
